ARRA Research Welcomes Historians Dino Oberto and Bob Hatcher as Members!

Ringoes, NJ – ARRA ….. Auto Racing Research Associates are proud to announce that two more auto racing historians have agreed to come aboard as member historians, bringing the number of active ARRA historians to a total of 41.  Founding member Bill Hanna and member  Allan Brown have passed away, but remain in the spirit of the work that ARRA continually perform!

“I found out that Dino was cutting back on his PR duties on the Pennsylvania asphalt modified track scene and I have been aware of Dino’s passion for the sport for decades and in fact, have benefitted from Dino’s help along the way when he may have had access to racing data that I had needed in the past.” reveals ARRA founding member and President, “….when I heard he was dialing back on some of his racing activities…I knew it was time to pounce!  Dino has been around a long time in the sport and has announced at various tracks in the Northeast and shares the mic with veteran announcer Earl Krause at the Pocono Speedway.  Dino has also worn the public relations helm at various racing facilities as well as been a member of the working racing press, covering the sport for the Hazleton, PA Standard-Speaker and Bloomsburg’s Press Enterprise.  He is also a contributor to Area Auto Racing News and is the current President of the Eastern Motorsport Press Association.” Voorhees boasted in revealing the many hats that Dino has worn over the years.  “But Dino came as a package deal..” he stated, “Along with Dino being brought in…we also asked his racing historian co-pilot Bob Hatcher.”

On Bob Hatcher’s acceptance into ARRA, Voorhees provided….“Bob brings a wealth of knowledge of the auto racing world in the Pennsylvania region and beyond.  He and Dino have been co-operating with each other, working side by side in compiling stats on the local speedways and quite honestly, their addition to our fold will greatly increase our knowledge base and resources in the Pennsylvania region, which, in turn, will further increase the wide range of ARRA’s coverage of our sports history!  We have gone national for a while now, but the heart of ARRA’s formation is centered square here in the Northeast and we still have lots to do here and Dino and Bob will be helpful additions to that end.”

Bob Hatcher got his introduction to the sport actually racing in competition on the same circuit that he has become familiar with in his research.  Abandoning the drivers seat…Bob began to amass a colossal collection of racing photos..detailing many facets of the sport and constructed a FaceBook page which now boasts over 4,300 photos, documenting the sports past.  It was only natural that he began to work alongside of Dino Oberto in solidifying the Pennsylvania area race tracks history through stats and facts and figures.  “Dino, knowing Bob’s passion matched his own, insisted that I consider bringing Bob along into our group of dedicated historians.” Fred wrapped up.  “I am happy and proud that they both accepted the invite and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!”

Racing fans desiring to see the entire ARRA staff of historians (“we also have a great staff of statistical assistants”) Fred felt needing to be mentioned……can become familiar with all of the historians…spread from coast to coast and even up into Canada – can view them all on the ARRA websites “Member” page at:   https://sites.google.com/site/arradocumentingracinghistory/your-hosts
