May 8th Recap:
The Jr. Slingshot opening A Main's finish wasn't decided until the checkered was thrown. Barry Seaman set sail at the drop of the green never to be denied the win,but behind him there wasn't a lap that didn't have a position change.Lap 5 had Lily Barrett slotting in at 2nd with Gavin Wolfe 3rd from his 12th starting spot and Hailey Burnatowski 5th from 13th.Tough luck struck Hailey Eroh for the 2nd week in a row as the 57 was caught up in a turn 2 tangle resulting in a flat tire while running 3rd on lap 7.Just outside this top 5 was Aubrey Romig,Hannah Kormann and Daniel Betz. With 5 to go the top 5 were locked in with 6th through 10th getting the attention.Seaman took the win as Anthony Ciccone garnered a hard earned 2nd after entering the top 5 on lap 9. Romig rallied back for 3rd after an earlier race altercation.Burnatowski stayed focused for 4th with Miles Zehner maintaining his top 5 run for the full 20 laps to get 5th.

There was no denying John Maurer the 125 micro win as he virtually only had 2 challenges from Dylan Yeingst and Chris Dolan. After getting shuffled in earlier laps Easton Miller regained 3rd on lap 10 and would follow Maurer and Dolan to the checkered. Yeingst was 4th as Shane Davis rounded out the top 5.

After a non-stop week on May 1st,the All Star Slingshots had a few minor yellows that slowed their 20 lapper down 5 times.Lindsey Garl brought the 16 car field to the green and only had to ward off restart challenges to take her 1st win of 2024.2nd starting Brett Bieber could not find traction on the high side and slipped back to 6th on lap 3,only to work out his handling issues to re-enter the top 5 on lap 5.On lap 9 Bieber got by Tucker Cole and Jason Dunkelberger for 2nd with Jocelynn Darinsig becoming a top 3 threat.A Lap 14 restart had Garl and Bieber battling into turn 1 with Garl's lowline groove faster launching her into victory lane.Bieber was 2nd with Jason Dunkelberger 3rd.Darinsig and a hard charging Colton Williams both passing Cole on lap 18 for 4th and 5th,relegating Cole to 6th.

Dave and Brenda decided to reward the 600 micro entries by starting all 27 entries into the A Main and increasing the race distance to 25 laps. Some of the best 600 racing so far this year was seen in the 1st 10 laps with Connor Mirabelli assuming command on lap 1,warding off all challenges from Geezer Fanelli,JT Bierman and Wayne Scott, as hard luck hit 3rd starter Pat Bealer who had car issues heading into turn 1.Entering the mix on lap 4 was Adam Buchel,as he got by Scott for 4th.Fred Heinly was a top 5 runner until lap 13 when Ryan Rochelle out powered him off of turn 4 to slot in for 5th.Lap 14 saw a few changes in the frontrunners with Bierman making a pass on Mirabelli in turn 2 and Dakota Barlet going from 6th 3rd getting by Buchel and Rochelle.Lap 19 set the tone for the remaining 6 laps as Barlet passed Mirabelli and was literally on Bierman's rear bumper. The top 4 run to the finish line had all cars separated by less than 1 second with Bierman winning by .3 seconds,Barlet over Mirabelli by .4 seconds and Mirabelli over Rochelle by just .2 seconds. The late race blast of speed had Matt McAnally passing Buchel and Damien Bower to claim 5th.

Brett Smith has been close to claiming a Stage 1 Modified win this year and he can now claim a win as he needed to keep 5th starting Johnny Fugelo behind him.Fugelo tried a few different grooves that got him to Smith, but not past him.Behind the pair it was Riley Wanamaker,Bryce Dodig and Mark Mohr residing from 3rd to 5th.Wanamaker was 3rd as Mohr passed Dodig in turn 1 of the last lap for 4th.

It was late race speed culminating in a run that had many fans cheering him on to the checker in the 270 micro main.Dylan Kuronya set sail at the green and stayed focused throughout the 20 lap main, warding off the restart challenges from Adam Buchel and Chase Zigenfuss. At lap 9 it was Kuronya,Buchel,Zigenfuss and Matt Hoffman, but 1 lap later a new face entered the picture as 10th starter Matt McAnally got by Hoffman and proceeded to pass Zigenfuss and Buchel on lap 14,finally overtaking Kuronya on lap 16 for the lead and win.Kuronya's efforts led to a runnerup payout with Buchel,Zigenfuss and Hoffman rounding out the top 5.Logan Hess charged from his 12th starting spot for 6th.

An abundance of yellows led to a final checker at 10:13 with payouts completed by 10:30.

The action on the speedway was as hot as the temperature at race time.

A big shout out to Dave Cordier,Jr. for turning a virtual flood zone into a race track as an early morning torrential downpour dropped 1.25" of rain on the speedway.

A visit by Logan's Heroes Animal Rescue was well received by all in attendance as donations of money and food were presented to them.
