Good afternoon race fans. It has been a sad day here at the Delaware International Speedway. This morning we received the news of long time supporter, driver, car owner, chassis builder and race track owner & promoter, Walt Breeding passed away after his long battle with cancer. Breeding was a pioneer of racing, not only here on Delmarva but across the country. Walt had many feature wins on his racing resume, from Big Block Modifieds, Super Late models and even Mod Lites. He won the first DIRT Points Championship in the famous "Florida Series" held every year around speed weeks in Daytona , FL. His accomplishments and creations help to keep our great sport of dirt track racing alive for over 5 decades. He even drag raced back in the late 60's, early 70's behind the wheel of a 55 Chevy which was owned by his long time friend and car owner "Speedy Reed." Walter Breeding, you will be truly missed! Rest in Peace Mr. Breeding, thank you for the wonderful memories you left behind! You will always be known as a legend.
