Diamonds new surface was fantastic for the East Coast Sprints a few weeks ago. Racey and virtually no dust and to make things better USAC brought a strong field of cars. It had been over a decade since I was last there and in general the facility itself looks pretty good too.
I just hope they have more concession stands open and better stocked then the previous event. Waited in line for an hour to find out they were out of what we were waiting for. Unacceptable, especially when they don't let you bring in food. I suspect there was a decent reason for the concession issue. Just wish they would have owned it rather than ignore it.
Of course running a more efficient show would be helpful too. In fairness some things were out of their control (rain before hot laps and red flags) but other things are in their control. Two or three push trucks to push off a full field of sprints is just stupid. When its midnight and still features to go it is not a good thing.
