JOHN WILLMAN EARNS FIRST NASCAR 358 MODIFIED FEATURE WIN OF THE SEASON SATURDAY AT GRANDVIEW, JIMMY LEIBY IS A FIRST TIME SPORTSMAN FEATURE WINNER; WINS IN THE VINTAGE FEATURES WENT TO ANDY CASSEL AND RICH DECKER
BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 7, 2019 . . . Much of the season has been a struggle for veteran racer John Willman but on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway everything went his way as he was able to claim his first 30-lap T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified feature race. Jimmy Leiby came on top in the 25-lap Sportsman feature for his first win. Coming home first in the Blast from the Past Modifieds was Andy Cassel while Rich Decker was tops in the Vintage class.
Finishing second to Willman in the Modified feature was current point leader Duane Howard. Jeff Strunk and Craig Von Dohren, each ten time track champions, came home third and fourth while fifth place was earned by Brett Kressley.
Mike Mammana chased Leiby home in the Sportsman main event. Point leader Brad Brightbill earned third. Steve Young was able to claim fourth followed by Jesse Landis. Jimmy Leiby also picked up an extra $100 for being the best finishing Crate Sportsman.
The final NASCAR point races of the season are set for Saturday, September 14 as WNPV-AM Radio Champion’s Night is presented. The T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and T.P.Trucks Equipment Sportsman racing talents will battle it out for the lucrative championships and top point finishing positions.
Fans will have the opportunity to win pairs of tickets for the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup race, October 6, at Dover International Speedway along with a four pack of “ride all day with coaster” tickets to the popular Knoebel’s Amusement Park, America’s largest free admission park which features the #1 Wooden Roller Coaster in the world, the Phoenix, all courtesy of WNPV.
