Ringoes,NJ – ARRA - - Auto Racing Research Associates are proud to announce that they have added two more pages to their roster of elite drivers who have had their career statistics researched and documented to an archive that race fans, journalists, etc can then access for all time so that this information is not lost to time.
Richie Evans and Maynard Troyer were absolute GIANTS in Northeast asphalt modified racing. Richie is far and wide considered undeniably the best there ever was in the division! The fun loving, cantankerous and always competitive driver from Rome, NY earned the respect of drivers and fans alike until an untimely accident in practice at the Martinsville Speedway unfortunately ended his life in 1985.
Maynard Troyer was an asphalt modified driver competing regularly alongside of Evans and earned his share of wins and glory along the way. His notoriety for always fielding sharp looking creations was popular with the fans and Troyer later went on to establish a very successful asphalt modified chassis building business that eventually grew to include a just as successful dirt modified chassis enterprise.
“There were always two drivers that I wanted to have a complete file on their careers…documenting their complete record of feature wins.” noted ARRA President Fred Voorhees. “I completed the research on “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie a few years ago. He was one. The other was Richie Evans and darned it if one of our ARRA historians….Jay Mooney, just recently submitted a complete history behind Richie! I was ecstatic to say the least. I couldn’t wait till the next day to begin the preparatory work needed to put together a page for Richie. I was up till around midnight that same night beginning the formatting needed to set it all up.”
In contacting Jay to chat about this new submission, Voorhees was informed that Jay was putting the finishing touches on another top driver research with the Maynard Troyer work. “It was like icing on the cake!” related Fred. “Maynard was never a slouch behind the wheel of whatever car he happened to be in….most of the time immaculately painted machines that captured the eye! I am equally elated at the submission of Maynard’s files.”
Both the Evans and Troyer pages are now up and ready to be viewed on the ever growing ARRA website of racing statistics. https://sites.google.com/site/arradocumentingracinghistory/
ARRA just recently moved their website to new digs and this presents many opportunities for a much more enjoyable experience when you visit the ever growing statistical website. President Fred Voorhees invites all race fans to visit it and browse around. “I had to completely rebuild the site from scratch.” mentioned Voorhees. “In the beginning, there were many fans that were having a problem opening up files on the site. I straightened that out after some investigating the new format and right now…there are very few people having problems with little glitches. I would like anyone still having a problem to let me know. At this point..it would seem that the problem is somewhere on their end, but I am hoping that in the very near future…everyone will be able to enjoy every page of our site.”
