KRAUSE MEMORIAL RACE WINNER WILL EARN $7,127 AT WALL STADIUM SATURDAY (AUG. 28)

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The season's highest paying Modified stock car race offering $7,127 to the winner will be in the spotlight this Saturday night (Aug. 28) at Wall Stadium Speedway as the third mile paved oval track presents the 127-lap “Cliff Krause Memorial.” Krause, the promoter of the speedway who is credited by many for returning the history rich oval to prominence, passed away in January, 2018 from natural causes. The Krause family continues to operate the speedway.

Saturday night's emotional auto racing card will see grandstand seating opening at 4:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:00 p.m. with Modified single car time trials leading the way. Main event action will follow at 7:00 p.m.

The Modifieds will battle in a 127-lap main event with drivers not only searching for the rich payday from the $27,227 total purse, but also for the honor of winning this fourth annual “Cliff Krause Memorial” race. In addition $100 bonuses for fast qualifier, hard charger and the first driver to suffer a flat tire will be presented by NAPA Auto Parts in Spring Lake, Brick, Pt. Pleasant and Freehold. The race winner will also be presented a designer watch from Merten's Jewelers in Manasquan.

Cliff Krause's son Andrew Krause was the emotional winner of the first annual event in 2018 and repeated last season, while Brick's Eric Mauriello won in 2019. Both are expected to be in Saturday night's field.

Blake Barney of Jackson plans to be in the field as well as top point earners Tommy Martino, Jr. of Farmingdale, Steven Reed of Jackson, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River, Brick's Dom Fattaruso and Eddie McCarthy of Brick. Jimmy Blewett of Howell, Anthony Sesely of Matawan, Marc Rogers of Beachwood, Ron Frees of Lanoka Harbor, Jonathan Mandato of Toms River and New Egypt's Jason Hearne have made at least one appearance each this season and could be among the invaders competing Saturday night. In fact, Pennsylvania hotshoe Earl Paules has also shown an interest in the event.

The Factory Stocks, Fast 4 Stocks and open cockpit TQ Midgets will also be on the card, all racing in 27-lap main events.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 2:30 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 4:00 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:00 p.m. with main events planned for 7:00 p.m.

The Saturday night schedule, which continues through October 2 is available at wallspeedwayracing.com.
