“The Jeffer” Jeff Heotzler joins the roster of ARRA researched and documented drivers!

Ringoes,NJ – ARRA - Auto Racing Research Associates, are proud to announce yet another top flight Northeast driver has been added to their line up of well known names in racing history that they have researched and documented.  Wallkill, NY’s Jeff Heotzler spent years known as a force to be reckoned with when he was in the feature field and it was only a matter of fate that Heotzler came to become one of the drivers on the ever growing statistical reference site!

“My wife and I traveled to New York state back in the later stages of the Summer to represent the ARRA group of historians.” stated ARRA President and Founding member Fred Voorhees.  “Beginning with a Thursday night at the annual Northeast Dirt Modified Museum and Hall of Fame for their induction ceremonies on a Thursday evening…we then spent a great evening that Friday starting with a riverside dinner with ARRA historian Ken Parrotte and then an exciting evening of racing at the nearby Brewerton Speedway.  The next day we set up our ARRA display at the Accord Speedway Racers Reunion where Jeff Hoetzler and his son Jeff Jr. were in attendance since Jeff had been such a prolific winner at the small bullring.”

As it turns out, Jeff Jr. had kept some good records of his Dad’s racing career and introduced himself to Voorhees that day.  That was the beginning of Heotzler’s path to his own page on the ARRA statistical website.

“Adding Jeff Heotzler to our roster of researched drivers is a thrill to me.” Voorhees added.  “I always love to add more documented driving careers to our work.”  But what seemed to be a quick effort to complete the career research of the fabled driver, turned out to be much more involved!

“Well, to be honest, it turned into a marathon of researching because the window of time that Jeff did most of his winning just so happened to coincide with some gaps in our research for a few of the researched tracks we have on the site.” Fred revealed.  “What it meant was that I had to go back and research many years worth of racing at both the Accord and Orange County Speedways.”  While it added significantly to the work needed to complete the Heotzler research, it was a benefit in other ways!

“It took a lot longer than I had envisioned in the beginning, but it was a blessing in disguise.   While I needed to do the work for the Heotzler research… at the same time, it allowed me to significantly add to the weekly statistics to both the Accord and Orange County Speedways.  So it was a win/win situation.” Voorhees summed up.

The additional stats for both Accord and Orange County have not been added to their respective ARRA pages, but are expected to be added in the very near future.

ARRA invites all Northeast dirt track racing fans to visit their websites newest addition and look back at the fantastic career of one of the most popular drivers.  Heotzler’s page can be viewed at: https://sites.google.com/site/arracarsdriversevents/home/jeff-heotzler
