Dave Cordier,Jr. has had one of the best teachers in prepping a race track ,that being his late father Dave,Sr.

The Cordier's made sure week in and week out that the Shellhammer Dirt track surface was the best it could be in any weather conditions and to this day it's still one of the best prepped tracks in the northeast whether it be for small car or big car racing.

The high banked 1/8th mile located a mile north of Leesport,Pa just off of St. Rte 61 has 2 regular nights of racing with the Wingless Wednesday and Super Saturday events on the 2022 schedule.

Both nights have to have different surfaces with the Weds. nights having the up on the cushion tacky surface for the micros, Slingshots and Stage 1 Modifieds and the Saturday classes needing the packed solid surface for the Go-karts,Quads,Slingshots and Micro Stocks.

As Mother Nature has taken a few nights of racing away, the 6 Wingless Weds. nights has seen many 3 wide and 4 wide instances throughout the night of speed on the Race Track by the River.

After 6 events many of the race teams who are looking to keep a racing budget in line with the escalating prices in parts, fuel and traveling costs,Shellhammer's, who has one of the best small car payouts in the country based on car entry numbers, has saved many race teams money due to the fact that many of them are still running the same tires from week 1 with virtually no tread wear on the RR tire.

You can check out other track info on Facebook at Shellhammer Dirt Track.
