Barlet,Fritz,Lane,Jr. and Mother Nature Wingless Weds. Winners

It was an incredible start to an enjoyable evening of speed on the Race Track by the River with all qualifying events completed in 55 minutes.Quite a few new faces joined the ranks last night. The track staff held firm to their weekly 10 minute intermission and no track prep during the course of the evening.

1st A Main of the evening was a 5 minute classic as only 1 caution slowed down the 20 lap main event.Off and running from his pole position after winning the 1st heat was the "Mullet Man" Dakota Barlet who had the 54 locked in.The only caution resulted in a restart that was one to watch as Barlet left the lowside open for Richie Hartman and Hartman was quick to occupy that space. The pair ran 6 laps side by side without contact with Barlet finally making headway in turn 2 on lap 9.As these 2 were setting a blistering pace the action behind them was just as entertaining as Marty Brian,Dan Lane,Jr. and Matthew Warner were in their own zone as Adam Buchel was entering the picture.Position changes to the very end resulted in a true classic.Barlet notched the win with Hartman 2nd,Warner found the middle groove to his liking in overtaking Brian and Lane,Jr. for 3rd.Buchel stayed firm in 6th with Trent Warner and Cliff Brian,Jr. rounding out the Elite 8.

With a week off and a prerace gathering of Stage 1 drivers by creator Richie Smith,it was another showing that showed what this class can do,if they set their minds to it.CJ Fritz was the early race leader with Lawson Szerencits,Riley Wanamaker and Bryce Dodig dogging Fritz throughout the entire campaign. It became the Fritz / Dodig show as the pair virtually stayed 2 wide for 3 full laps with Fritz finally clearing Dodig heading into turn 1 on lap 13. Wanamaker stayed within challenging distance with Stephen Smith III getting in the mix in his sharp looking # 88 hot rod.Midpack racing had a 4 car scramble with nothing being decided until the 20 laps were completed as Mike Glass,Abraxas Hannah,A J Gerhart and Anthony Chrobak all had visions of improving their spots. The checkered fell for Fritz by just .2 seconds over Dodig with Wanamaker getting the final podium spot.4th through 8 were only separated by 1 second with Smith III finishing just ahead of the quartet of Hannah,Glass,Gerhart and Chrobak.Early race challenger Szerencits suffered some hard luck on lap 11 and was a DNF.

Mother Nature was trying to get some laps in during the 270 main but it wasn't soon enough to prevent 11 laps from being completed.Dan Lane,Jr. was a missile in the A Main and there was no one that was going to prevent him from taking the win.Charging from his 4th spot was Matt McAnally in the 36R to track down Lane,Jr. to the point of being to his rear bumper, but not enough to get by.On lap 5 it was Jarrett Inler,Pete Skias and a quick closing Richie Hartman putting on the show with Skias losing some handling with Josh Patterson and Adam Buchel jockeying for the well paying 5th position. With Mother Nature starting to moisten the clay,it was apparent that the race might be ending sooner than expected,so it was time for Matt Hoffman and Ben Layser to join the fray for the closing 2 laps.Lane,Jr. won with McAnally getting 2nd.Imler,Hartman,Patterson and Buchel would become a blanket finish with these 4 spots separated by only .8 seconds.Hoffman held firm for 7th and Layser took 8th just ahead of Skias.

The remaining 3 features will be spread out over the next 3 weeks. In a show of support for the teams that entered this event,Cordier Family Productions will not add any entry into those 3 features that was not here on the 13th.

A big thanks to the 100 entries for their support of this evening of racing.

Wingless Weds returns on the 20th with the 600,270 and 125 micros joing the All Star Slingshots,Junior Slingshots and PA Micro Midgets as the Stage Mods have the night off.The Junior Slingshot makeup feature will start the evening's festivities off.
