New Management Takes Control at New Egypt Speedway,
Shortages Force Adjustments to Schedule, Summer Sizzler Cancelled
(July 14, 2022): Last week a major change was made at New Egypt Speedway with track owner
Fred Vahlsing, completely overhauling the management of the 4/10 mi. dirt track. New General
Manager Mark Blackwell took over and was immediately greeted with rave reviews in his first
weekend at the helm. Wednesday he announced several adjustments and improvements to the
schedule that are being implemented to address concerns of the race teams.
The well-publicized racing tire; parts shortage that is affecting all tracks in the northeast, has
been no different here at NES. After consulting with many of the race teams, it has been
decided to cancel this coming Tuesday night’s “Summer Sizzler” event.
“Under the current situation, the strain that would be placed on local teams to support an
additional event is unnecessary at this point. Some changes needed to be made as supplies run
low, so our racers can continue to put on a quality show for the fans each week.” explained
Blackwell, “Although this decision was a difficult one to make, it is the correct one for everyone
involved at this time.”
With regards to the existing schedule, several other changes have been made to clean up the
Summer schedule and address any issues and conflicts. The following changes have also been
made:
Sat. July 23rd - Monster Trucks are postponed until August 20. The added event that was
posted by prior management to replace them will NOT take place.
Sat. Aug. 20th, Celebration Night is canceled, as Monster Trucks have been rescheduled to this
date (Same weekend as last year), For tickets and all info please visit www.Monstertruckz.com.
With the track’s current tire inventory depleted, this Saturday, July 16 th , there are NO tires being
sold at the track. We are hoping to receive a delivery before our next show on July 30 th . An
update will be posted on our social media outlets when we have more info. In addition, the track
stamp requirement is also waived until further notice beginning immediately. ANY American
Racer tire, that conforms to the NES size and compound rules, will be allowed to be used
regardless of what track stamp it has.
If any other changes are needed, they will be announced as soon as the change is made. We
appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as the new track management attempts to
make positive changes for the continuing future of New Egypt Speedway.

This week NES is back in action, Saturday July 16 th with the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-
Atlantic 305 Sprint Series invading the speedway. They will join the Vahlco Wheels Modifieds,
as well as race #4 of the High Gear Towing Series for the Hamilton Auto Clinic
Crates. The 4-cylinders and the Vintage cars will also be on hand to round out a big
night of racing. Gates will open at 5pm, with hot laps at 6pm and racing beginning at 7pm.
