HIGH GEAR SERIES PREPS FOR SEASON FINALE

When Series Director, George Gareis Sr came up with the idea of having a separate series for the Crate
competitors, the goal was to have the division race for a decent prize fund in addition to the one posted
by the New Egypt Speedway. According to George, “we were looking to return the division to where it
was years ago with full fields signing into the pit area each race presented.”

High Gear Towing stepped up in a big way, becoming the title sponsor and guaranteeing the champion
would walk out with $2,000. From there the series began to grow in leaps and bounds, with Gareis
continuing to welcome several sponsors on board. The result was a point fund that would now reward
the top fifteen finishers.

Among those sponsors coming on board for the inaugural series are Oliver Communications, Precision
Hydraulic & Oil, Midstate Communications, 12Z Racing/ CM Motorsports, Lyons Construction, Amy
Szwed Designs, Island Performance, Sarah Heil Custom Art, Elite Auto Service, Wilson Power, and Vahlco
Wheels.

The series was scheduled to be a ten race event, but due to a few rainouts and one other race
eliminated due to a monster truck event, seven races now make up the very lucrative series. To date,
eighteen drivers have participated in all six events with a total of thirty eight competitors taking part in
the six events already presented.

Going into the final event of the season, Joe Toth is the current point leader. Having a banner season,
Toth has scored three wins, two second place finishes, and one fourth place finish. He has a fifty five
point lead over Ryan Simmons, but this race will carry with it double points, which means the winner will
receive 120 markers. Young David Burns sits in third just seven points behind Simmons with Tom
Princiotta a mere six points behind Burns.

Others looking to take home the big win and possibly crack the top five in the final points race include
Nick Van Wickle, Eric Palmer, Dan Fleming, Amanda Buchel, and 2022 rookie champion, David Miloszar
Jr.

While $2,000 awaits the champion, second place in points will pay $1250, third $1000, fourth $750, and
fifth $500.

As the season comes to a close, Gareis is already preparing for the 2023 series. Information will
be forthcoming soon about sponsorship programs for the series, the schedule, and the point fund.
