Ringoes,NJ – ARRA…Auto Racing Research Associates continue to churn out the statistics on Northeast and National auto racing!  Two of the most recent additions to their ever growing reference/statistical website come from historian Tim Quievryn  and ARRA President Fred Voorhees.  Quievryn, the owner and webmaster of ARRA sister website The Third Turn - https://thethirdturn.com/wiki/The_Third_Turn has begun to cross over and submit some of his finest work from his website to share with the viewers of ARRA’s site.  Tim has submitted his work on the USAC SuperModifieds and Late Models, the Ohio and Western PA Speedweeks and just recently, submitted his latest file….the complete records of the USAC Western States Midget Series.  “We invite fans from across the country to visit Tim’s pages on our ARRA website and if you find them interesting…you can find even more in-depth information about all of his files subjects on his Third Turn website.” advises President Fred Voorhees.

Wrapping up months of intensive research…Voorhees has just this evening thrown up the file regarding the weekly winners of all classes of the Accord Speedway.  Voorhees admits “…..I knew going into the Accord Speedway research project a few months ago, that it was not going to be a simple task.  Preliminary investigation of news on Accord showed that there would be problem years and there certainly were a few!”  Indeed, although consulting three different auto racing newspapers that cover racing in the Northeast, three local newspapers germaine to the Accord Speedway area via an internet newspaper search app, there were some years that appear to be “lost to time”, with no identifiable news of weekly results of the speedway that first opened for business back in 1962.

“Yes, it’s disappointing!” says Fred when talking about the inability to secure the results of many of the weekly results for certain years of Accord’s operation.  “You would think that the earliest events back in the sixties would be the main culprits…and that is true to an extent.  Myself and my collaborator Frank Bush who has been an Accord Speedway stalwart for many, many years and organizes the annual Accord Speedway Drivers Reunion, ran into trouble with the years of 1966 and 1967.   Horrible is the only way I would like to put it.  That was somewhat understandable considering the era.  But we were surprised to find that we had a window of time from ’74 through ’76 that were also very lacking in consistent availability of results news.  Three racing papers and three local papers and still ……. practically nothing.  It was annoying to say the least!

“THIS is why we do this research stuff now! Voorhees adds….” It would seem as if those missing statistics on Accord may never be found and will leave a hole in the complete history of the speedway.  We strive to keep up to date records on those tracks we already follow and look forward to adding more to our library of researched and documented racing facilities.”

ARRA would like to remind fans that the Accord file is still undergoing some minor tweaks even now after it has been added to the Accord page.  Just some minor driver name spellings and division determinations….but for the most part…the list of weekly winners in all divisions is about as far as possible and with what is available to research.  Fans can find the weekly Accord Speedway Weekly winners list here:  https://sites.google.com/view/tracks-series-organizations/accord-speedway?authuser=0
