Cooperation Leads To Competition In Defeating Mother Nature.

A 5:45 shower was not going to deter Cordier Family Productions from putting on a racing program Weds. night. When the call was made for 4 wheelers to help pack the freshly rained on speedway 27 riders headed to the high banks and got the wheels turning.A BIG Thank You to all that helped and for the crews in having faith in us. A 45 minute delay was better than everyone heading home.

First on the agenda was the Junior Slingshots with Chase Schott trying for the Hat Trick. One racer denied that feat and withstood everything the young speedster was doing to take the lead. The 57 of Hailey Eroh knifed through slower cars like a hot knife in butter in the mid stages of the race. The pair raced side by side in turns 1 and 2 for 5 straight laps with Hailey having the final advantage off of turn 2 to capture the hotly contested win. The top 5 were bunched together a few times with Miles Zehner taking a well run 3rd. Daniel Betz finished where he started for 4th with Collin Carpenter looking stronger with every outing in getting 5th.Madelyn Krause got the Strapped In TV Show Driver of the Week Pit Pass for her 11th place run.

Polesitter A J Gerhart warded off the initial challenges from Jesse Leiby and Abby Witter then having to deal with the winners of the 1st two races this year, John Maurer and Chris Dolan. This 3 car battle would last the final 10 laps of the event with Gerhart getting a .3 second win over a fast closing Maurer with Maurer having Dolan on his right rear under the checkered. Witter took 4th place money followed by a much improved Easton Miller. Teammates Jesse Leiby and Blaire Schoenly captured 6th and 7th.

The GOAT of the Slingshot class Brett Bieber has found some speed in the Horvath 42H,but it wasn't quite enough to overtake the 6X of Jason Dunkelberger from visiting victory lane in the All Star Slingshot class. Bieber tried a don't lift move heading into turn 1 with 2 to go and got along side of Jason but not enough to get past. Waiting in the wings for a wrong move by either one was Tyler Hoch who got by James Benz in the later stages of the 20 lap main.Benz, held firm for 4th with a determined Jax Yohn on his tail.Yohn improved 9 spots from his 14th starting slot to get 5th. An always steady Alex Lagun claimed 6th.

Richie Hartman's early threats by Trevor Kobylarz was erased when Trevor's # 5 had to be towed off the speedway on lap 8 with front end issues. Hartman had no challenges from that point on. 2nd through 4th was a different story with Dakota Barlet,Matt McAnally and Trent Warner at one point going 3 wide with Barlet getting 2nd by just .1 seconds over McAnally. Last race winner Dan Lane,Jr. overcame early race handling problems and rebounded for a sharp 5th place run..The real closing lap battle was for 6th through 9th. Separated by an incredible .5 seconds under the checkered it was Matthew Warner,Wayne Scott ,Adam Buchel and J T Bierman.Scott attracted some attention as he did a wheelie from turn 4 to the starter's stand during this torrid battle.

Grandview Speedway hotshoe Brett Gilmore slotted in as the driver of the Faust 5-0 ride and left quite a 1st impression on the Shellhammer fans as he took the Stage 1 Modified win. Slower traffic kept this race a close one with Riley Wanamaker on alert as she had enough to run with Gilmore ,but just not enough to get by as lapped traffic took her desired lane of passage. Blazing through the field from his 11th starting spot Bryce Dodig got to challenge Riley in the final laps of the 25 lap feature. Lawson Szerencits and Jay Garris had their own private battle for 4th and 5th. Colin Cox was 6th with last race winner Ryan Raidline regrouping to get 7th after an early race tangle putting the 00 to the rear.

The drive of the night was in the final A Main,as 19 270 micros were entered. The front row pairing of Matt Hoffman and Matt McAnally was short lived as the duo brought out the 1st yellow in turn 2 of lap 1. Richie Hartman assumed command and it looked like a win for the veteran racer as his the 88x was hooked to the lowside. As laps were progressing a car that brought out an early race yellow was dicing through the field in splendid fashion, that being the 88e of Louden Reimert. In the span of 5 laps Reimert went from 7th to 2nd getting by the hot rods of Jarrett Imler and Glenn Macomber, who were 2nd and 3rd at the time. With the 2 lap sign being given Reimert had to go where Hartman wasn't and did just that on the final circuit to claim his 1st win of 2023. He literally went from 18th to 1st in 20 laps.Hartman got the podium 2nd spot with Imler and Macomber dueling for 3rd with Jarrett getting the spot by a scant .2 seconds. Rallying back from the lap 1 affair for 5th and 6th were McAnally and Hoffman. 2 good showings for Patrick Kirn and Chase Zeigenfuss to get 7th and 8th.

With a 45 minute delay the checkered was thrown at 10:42.
