Raindrops Cannot Halt Fantastic Night of Racing.

Mother Nature again took a back seat to the racing action Weds. night,as the Dave Cordier,Jr. prepped track was in primo condition for whatever was on it's racing surface.Three wide racing was all throughout the A Mains as no position was secure until the checkered was thrown.

A solid field of 125s made their way onto the high banks with a slight mist in the air.A few fast caution laps and it was time to race.Dylan Yeingst grabbed the early race lead and after a few laps of side by side racing with John Maurer,Dylan slotted in behind the 82.On the move in the #44G was AJ Gerhart ,who advanced 4 spots in 5 laps and joined in the front running pair.Tracking down this trio was Steve Simmons,Chris Dolan and Easton Miller.Maurer was distancing himself from these drivers, but they were having their own battle for the runner up spot with Gerhart getting by Yeingst for 2nd.Dolan overtook Simmons for 4th and Easton Miller got the Driver of the Week pit pass voucher for his 6th place run.

If there was a determined Junior Slingshot driver,it was Hailey Eroh, who lost a last lap heartbreaker to Chase Schott last week. These young racers put on quite a show with the top 6 of Eroh,Aubrey Romig,Chase Schott,Daniel Betz,Gavin Wolfe and Zack Gerber literally pack racing for the full 20 laps, only to be joined by Miles Zehner ,who found the outside groove to his liking.Lap 14 found Schott getting by Romig for 2nd with his sights set on Eroh's # 57.Finding a way around slower traffic was not going be her downfall this week as her and Schott split a slower car in the run to the checkered with Eroh getting the win by just .15 seconds.Romig held her ground for 3rd,as Betz and Zehner got 4th and 5th,just ahead of Gerber.Collin Carpenter advanced 9 positions to get 7th from his 16th starting slot.

Looking to put his name into the 600 micro win list is Chris Kurtz in the red # 5,as well as the "Mullet Man" Dakota Barlet who has seen bad luck haunt his # 54 week after week.Being a part of the 1st 5 lap party joining Kurtz and Barlet were Adam Buchel,Richie Hartman and Geezer Fanelli.Lap 9 was the turning point in the race as Barlet took to the track cushion and propelled around Kurtz to take the top spot.Buchel and Hartman had a great view of the action in front of them as Matt Warner got by the Fanelli ride for 5th.These 5 held firm until lap 18 when leader Barlet rode the high side into turn 3 ,only to have a slower car right in front of him impeding his run.Barlet had mechanical issues on the white flag lap and was the hard luck driver of the night.Buchel took the hard fought win just ahead of Kurtz with Hartman and Warner 3rd and 4th.Making a couple moves the last few laps for 5th was a fast closing Matt McAnally, just over Trevor Kobylarz.

Plenty of 3 wide midpack racing in the Stage 1 Modified main was not going to slow down Colin Cox who went wire to wire for the win.Behind him was a different story.Riley Wanamaker,Mark Mohr, Alexis Spatz and Jay Garris were locked in a torrid battle with Bryce Dodig picking off cars one by one to enter the top 5 on lap 10.Spatz got out of shape to bring out a yellow and the final sprint to the checkers was set.Mohr got by Wanamaker on lap 14 for 2nd with Dodig getting by Riley on lap 15 for 3rd.It was a highly entertaining final 3 laps as Johnny Fugelo who started 16th and AJ Gerhart ,who started 17th,set a blistering pace to pass cars as the middle cars in 3 wide racing to the finish.Cox won,Mohr was 2nd,Wanamaker regained 3rd after Dodig became a lap 16 DNF.Last week's winner Garris slotted in for 4th with Fugelo getting to the line ahead of Gerhart for 5th.

A matter of inches was the difference for the race lead and the win in the 270 class.Adam Buchel and Richie Hartman raced clean and green for the 1st 8 laps until the 45 of Matt McAnally entered the scene. These 3 ran under a blanket for 6 laps until Buchel drifted a little high out of turn 2 giving McAnally just the right amount of room he needed to make the pass and go on to the win.Buchel grabbed 2nd ahead of Hartman, who had to withstand the pressure from Alex Reinsmith, who forged ahead of "Sleeveless" Mike Kalman on lap 9.Kalman got 5th place money.Last week's winner Matt Hoffman rounded out the top 6.

The All Star Slingshots were the closer and what a closer it was with Jason Dunkelberger and Tucker Cole locked in a top spot duel the entire 20 lap distance. Not to be outdone were Nolen Layser,Wyatt Taschler and Colton Williams. This was your top running 5 for 17 laps until Dan Lane,Jr. in the Thunberg 12Sr entered the scene. The final 3 laps saw a variety of moves and position changes as Cole and Dunkelberger were not to be denied 1st and 2nd, with Williams getting by Taschler for 3rd.Lindsey Garl , who lost 3 spots on the opening lap quietly passed 4 cars in those final 3 circuits to earn an incredible 4th over Lane,Jr.Veteran of the Slingshot wars,Matt Miller had his 16m in for 6th.

Checkered thrown at 9:21 as a breeze was sending some cooler air from the river over the speedway.

Plenty of 3 wide racing action and a night everyone should be proud of in beating Mother Nature and giving the fans a well run racing program.
