Buchel's 3 Wide Pass Caps Exciting Night.

Dave Cordier,Jr.'s well prepped speedway required no track packing and 3 lanes of racing with a slight cushion for added comfort.Qualifying capped off at 8:05 and the All Star Slingshots were on the track promptly at 8:20

Polesitter Nolen Layser had no challenges for the 1st 5 laps of the All Star Slingshot main event until Lindsey Garl got hooked up and over took the 3L on lap 7 to score her 2nd win of the season. The show for 2nd was fun to watch with Layser,Colton Williams and Tucker Cole all tightly bunched.Williams ran out of laps in his chase for the win and got 2nd place money with Layser finishing a car length ahead of a fast closing Dan Lane ,Jr. in the 12Sr.Rounding out the top 5 was Daron Reppert in the 01 ,as Cole settled for a DNF after mechanical failures struck on lap 5.

The heartbreak of the night was in the 125 feature as race long leader Chris Dolan experienced mechanical issues on the last lap turning the lead and the win to AJ Gerhart, who had lap times equal to Dolan throughout the 20 lapper.Entertaining the fans were Easton Miller,Steve Simmons and Abby Witter in their quest to slot in for 3rd.Simmons overtook Miller for 3rd on lap 14 as Miller,Witter and the 22CW of Chase Wehr had a score to settle in the final laps.Gerhart got the checkered with Dolan slowing and eventually coming to a stop with Simmons and Miller rounding out the podium finishers.Witter claimed 4th just over Wehr. The team cars of Blaire Schoenly and Jesse Leiby were 6th and 7th.

Giving Chase Schott a front row starting spot in the Junior Slingshot main has the making of a trip to the winner's circle and this is what Schott did for his 5th win of the season. There were no serious challenges to Schott, but behind him there was action aplenty.Last weeks winner Hailey Eroh advanced 3 spots in the opening lap only to head to the infield with a broken chain after completing lap 2.Some new faces are showing their talents behind the wheel as the season progresses, with that being Zack Gerber,Collin Carpenter,Cheyenne Snodderly and Barry Seaman. These 4 had to contend with a stout Daniel Betz who entered the top 5 on lap 9.From lap 15 to the checkered positions 2nd through 6th changed 7 times. As the checker flew over Schott,Seaman overtook Gerber for 2nd who had to ward off the advances of Aubrey Romig who passed 4 cars in the last 3 laps to get 4th.Carpenter held firm just nosing out Betz for 5th.Anthony Speece advanced 7 spots to get 7th from his 14th starting spot.

The 1st nine laps of the 600 main had fans on the edge of their seats as Matthew Warner,Richie Hartman and Trevor Kobylarz was one trio to watch as Chris Kurtz,Dakota Barlet and Matt McAnally were wheeling and dealing right behind them.Hartman passed Warner for the lead on lap 3 with Kobylarz making a bid for the lead on lap 9.Lap 9 had 2 yellows bunching up the field giving Warner the restart run he needed to reclaim 2nd and challenge Hartman.Hard luck again strikes Dakota Barlet as he is the race yellow on lap 13 and retiring from the race running 5th.Kurtz also slows bringing out a yellow. The restart saw Warner stay even with Hartman through 3 turns ,but Hartman got a bite off of turn 4 to propel the 39 ahead for good for the win.Kobylarz was across the line for 3rd.Back of the pack starters Trent Warner and a last starting Dan Lane,Jr. burst onto the scene with 5 to go and joined the top 5 fray.Warner claimed 4th with Lane,Jr. 5th.Some good runs for 6th through 8th runners,Fred Heinly,Damian Bower and Geezer Fanelli.

Looking to make victory lane part of his birthday celebration,Mark Mohr threw all he had in his 20M at AJ Gerhart and Gerhart withstood the war.Mohr made a bold move exiting turn 4 aside of Gerhart but caught the retaining wall and twisted the rear of his Stage 1 Modified. Johnny Fugelo has been turning some heads lately and this race was no different as he warded off all efforts from Bryce Dodig and Riley Wanamaker to stay in 3rd.A 9 car pileup sent some cars to the infield for the night and on the restart Matt Mertz and Colin Cox locked bumpers sending both cars to the rear. These 2 put on quite the show heading back through the field as laps were winding down.Gerhart and Fugelo easily hid away for 1nd and 2nd and with Mohr calling it a night on lap 21,the last 4 circuits were very entertaining. In those 4 laps Cox went from 8th to 4th and on the lap turn just got under Wanamaker for the 3rd place pay envelope.Stephen Smith III rebounded from falling out of the top 5 on lap 17 to reclaiming it on the last lap passing Jay Garris.Mertz came back to get 7th with Fabian Allaico-Cushman slotting in for 8th.

When the word "classic" is mentioned in racing,it's usually something that fans will remember for quite some time and in the 270 micro main lap 16 was the classic moment, which we will get to a little later. When Richie Hartman starts on the pole in any event,in most instances he is the winner.Hartman jumped out to an early lead with past winner Matt Hoffman giving everything he had in his 21H to get by Richie after 8 laps were completed.Enter Adam Buchel in his red # 10,who has been knocking on the door all season in this class.Adam wrestled 2nd from Hoffman on lap 9 and the battle rages on with May 24th winner Matt McAnally slotting in 4th at the halfway signal. The hard luck driver in this event was Hoffman who coasted to the infield on lap 11 for a DNF while running 3rd. A Louden Reimert sighting was noted on lap 11 as he advanced from 10th to 4th and trying to overtake McAnally for 3rd.Here comes the classic moment,Hartman,Buchel and McAnally were virtually racing under a towel,it was that close coming off of turn 2.Buchel drifted back to 3rd after exiting the turn, but never lifted into turn 3 making the pass on McAnally who was locked on the lowside and Hartman ,who most likely figured no one was going around him, until he saw the red 10 use the cushion to go from 3rd to 1st in one turn and hold off Hartman by .4 seconds for his 1st 270 win of the season.Hartman was 2nd,McAnally 3rd with Reimert 4th.5th,6th and 7th were decided on the 24th lap as Jarrett Imler held firm in besting Alex Reinsmith for the 5th position with "Sleeveless" Mike Kalman on Reinsmith's rear bumper under the checker.

Checkered was thrown at 9:47 with everyone paid and on their way home by 10:15.

Everyone expects yellows during the course of the evening and there were some, but when the green light was on,it was some of the best racing seen in quite some time at the Race Track by the River.

This truly is the "place to be" for your midweek racing fix.
