A Night Where the Top 5 Wasn't Settled Until the Checkered.

For many of the race teams that took to the Race Track by the River, there wasn't a finishing spot that was set in stone until the checkered was thrown.

The 600 micros shuffled the top 3 spots constantly with Dakota Barlet,Adam Buchel and Richie Hartman jockeying for the top spot for the 1st 15 laps.Buchel got by Barlet to take the lead on lap 3 and held it until Richie Hartman got by on lap 14.Buchel used a high side turn 2 pass to regain a lead he would never lose in capturing his 2nd 600 win of the season.Hartman would cross the line 2nd with Dan Lane,Jr. getting by Barlet for 3rd.Matt McAnally also slipped by Barlet in the closing laps to get 4th,with Barlet still getting the kinks out of his new ride finishing 5th.Trevor Kobylarz recovered from some fume issues in qualifying to get 6th.Olivia Thayer put on a good showing getting 8th behind the steady Chris Kurtz.

The King of the Road Stage 1 Modified Tour had a nice 21 car field and the A Main had the same 5 cars in the top 5 for the full 25 lap distance with AJ Gerhart overtaking Colin Cox in the early going to put the S1 into victory lane for the 5th time in 2023.Cox,warding off a late race run by Bryce Dodig would take 2nd by just .3 seconds over Dodig.Gavyn Krupp used some different lines around the high banks to claim 4th with Matt Mertz regrouping from engine woes last week to get a hard fought 5th.Johnny Fugelo advanced 10 spots for 6th place money.

The streak continues in the 270 micro ranks as Matt McAnally charges from his 6th starting spot to overtake Adam Buchel for the lead and win on lap 8 for his 4th straight win.Hard luck beset Buchel who headed to the infield on lap 20 while running 2nd.Jarrett Imler running in the top 5 all race ,inherited 2nd on the Buchel misfortune and continued on for 2nd.Nick Sweigart looking at home on the high banks finished 3rd with the 21X of Rob Swavely shadowing Nick to the line for 4th. Quietly moving through the field from his 19th starting spot was Jeffrey Confer ,who rallied by Cooper Schoenly and Dustin Young to get 5th.

With no stoppages in the All Star Slingshot main,it was the Lindsey Garl Show with slower traffic her only competition for the 20 lap distance.Getting his 2nd runner-up finish in a row was John Redner, who also had minimal challenges in the event.Nabbing 3rd was Jason Dunkelberger who lost a few spots early in the event but rallied to get 3rd.4th through 6th was the attention getter as Colton Williams found the lowside to his liking and passed 4 cars late in the race to get a much earned 4th,just ahead of Dan Lane,Jr. and Tucker Cole.

John Maurer stayed on the gas heading into turn 3 to overtake Shane Davis on his way to win # 5 in the 125 micro class.3 early race stoppages regrouped the field and the run to the checkered was quite spirited as 2nd through 5th had 1 position change on lap 8 with AJ Gerhart getting by Shane Davis for 3rd.Staying within challenging distance was Abby Witter, but the final 5 laps saw no changes in spots.Maurer won, with the next 4 slots going to Chris Dolan,AJ Gerhart,Shane Davis and Abby Witter.A shout out to Dave Schroeder who became a DNF on lap 3 while running in the 3rd spot.Blaire Schoenly just nudged out Easton Miller for 6th.

The closing event came down to the leading Junior Slingshot winners dealing with slower traffic as Hailey Eroh clung to the berm tires to get by Chase Schott, who had to hit the brakes to avoid a lapped car tangle on lap 13 and take a narrow .2 second win over Schott.Putting on her best performance in Wingless Weds. action was Lily Barrett ,who got by Aubrey Romig to settle in for 3rd and ride that all the way to the race's end.Daniel Betz found the 4th position to his liking as he held firm there for the final 16 laps.Sneaking through the 19 car pack was Barry Seaman from his 11th starting slot to overtake Romig and Gavin Wolfe to get 5th place money.Romig and Wolfe would be 6th and 7th.Advancing 6th spot was Madalyn Krause from 14th to 8th.

The winner's were treated to a dozen tasty donuts, sponsored by Geezer Fanelli and the Ace is the Place "G" car race team.Special thanks to Potts / Eroh Racing for coming onboard to sponsor concession stand vouchers. As again, the fantastically prepped speedway by Dave Cordier,Jr. produced some close racing at both ends of the speedway.

The same 6 classes will be back in action next Weds. July 26th.
