Just a few  things of note that I saw while updating the ARRA website tonight (Fri).

First off..Matt Sheppard’s win Saturday night at the Land of Legends Raceway brought him to a total of 93 modified division feature wins...just one short of Steve Paine’s 94.  Steve Paine was once a holy terror at the then Canandaigua Speedway.  Steve hasn’t captured a feature win there since 9/1/18.  Only Bob McCreadie at 99 wins and all time feature win leader Alan Johnson at 128 stand on the other side of Paine and ahead of the all time perch should Sheppard chose to chase it down.

Also...in the national Lucas Oil Late model series...Jonathan Davenport’s two recent wins at the Florence Speedway in Kentucky moved him past the legendary Jimmy “The O Show” Owens on the all time win list with Davenport’s 81 wins over Owens’ 80.  The wins put Davenport into second place on the all time list to Scott Bloomquist (who tragically perished this morning in a personal two seater airplane crash) and his total of 94.

Ricky Thornton also won during the three day stop at the Florence Speedway.  Thornton’s win on the Thursday evening program broke a tie he had shared with “T-Mac” Tim McCreadie.  Thornton moved to 38 wins over Tim’s 37 and laid sole claim to sixth on the all time list.

A little further back in the standings...Bobby Pierce enjoyed two wins on the Florence swing and that moved him past young “Terbo” Tyler Erb.  Pierce moved to 13th on the all time list with 21 feature wins over Erb’s 20.

Hard on lake Ontario...the Oswego Speedway saw Otto Sitterly win the nights Super Modified feature and it moved him to 46 career wins there...one more than Joe Gosek....giving Sitterly 4th on the all time SuperModified win list at the historic track.  Jim Shampine 87, Bentley Warren 66 and Eddie Bellinger Jr. 52 make up the top three winners ahead of Sitterly.  In the 350 Super Modified division...a much newer division at the track...saw Josh Sokolic take Saturday nights feature and thus...move into the lead on the all time win list for the 350’s with seven career checkers.
