Nothing against him but you have to admit there is a flaw in the handicapping system at Grandview.

Nothing wrong with handicapping other than the dumb comments about it. Just because he started up front, doesn't mean it was a cakewalk. Howard may have started back in the pack and caught him, but Willman held his own. Even through two late race restarts. At the end Howard was right on his back bumper. If you want to troll, buy a fishing boat.

I'm sorry if this is over your head but a driver with two second  and one third place finish the past 3 weeks should not be starting up front.

Grandview does NOT handicap with a three week average. It is total points for the season. I have been to many tracks that use the 3 week average where the pole sitter had multiple wins on the year too. So is that a handicapping problem too?

Umm, Yes actually tehre is an issue with that. Those drivers are usually known as the "Sandbaggers". They drop out of races or run aroud the back for three straight weeks so they start up front on the fourth week to try and win. They do not care about  one bit about "season" points, only care about the wins, that payday & the trophy.

You need to go back & reread my message (minus spelling & puncutation errors as I have made many in the past & will continue to make errors) and also to whom I replied to. I was replying to another poster who stated that some tracks that do use the "Three week handi-capping system" and yet still have drivers with multiple wins starting on the pole/up front.

My message was not directed you or anything negative about Willman. And I do know him somewhat. Yes he works hard to try and win. And I personally have known some who have won on asphalt and dirt tracks in the past who drop out or run back of the pack if they can't get past the top 5/10 cars for a several weeks in a row just to get to start on the pole or on front row, then went on to win as that was their plan. And was done several times over a single season. Winning 3 to 5 races a year was more inportant than a track t itle. as you can win a track title without winning a feature all year by finishing every race in 2nd through 5th while the guy who won say 4 races by sandbagging finshes 3rd, 4th or 5th in points. Just stating some facts.

The handicap system should add points for the races that were unattended by a driver. But I will say that the races including the heats are as good as they are is because of the handicapping. There is no more competitive racing than what takes place at Grandview Speedway on a weekly basis.
