So why weren't Billy and Billy Jr invited to Bristol? As far as Billy Sr, Horton and Hearn we're there, sort of his peers. As far as Jr, he certainly deserved an invation, what's the inside scoop?

They aren't regulars on the SDCS........outsiders almost always get shafted in tech as well.  Thats alotta travel and expense to race for 2nd place money might be another reason.

They had a list and not being regulars they were down on the list. Enough guys on the list ahead accepted, so put them out.   Sr., I'm sure, had no interest at all.

And I am like Raceasarus, I hate Super dirt Car for the way they treat the racers and the way they treat other promoters. They think they are the only sanctioning body on earth and they do no wrong. Deyo is feeding them their lunch! STSS is so much more competitive.

People talk about Deyo and his motor rules, but he's doing what people want, different combinations, instead of cookie cutter IROC type rules.

Billy Pauch Sr was invited but he turned down his invite. Junior wasn't, which is definitely a bummer because he definitely deserved to be there over quite a few of the guys there based on talent. As some previous guys mentioned, the invite list was offered first the teams that ran more DIRTcar races (Seniors recent runs at Volusia had him ahead of Junior in that regard) or at DIRTcar sanctioned tracks in recent years.

As for the whole, "unfair treatment" and "treating racers and promoters badly"... when? Can you actually name any examples? My favorite is when the people that say stuff like that are the same people that say "DIRT needs Donnelly back," despite the fact that HE was the one that did that.

Since the newer regime took over about 10 years ago (not the original Boundless, I agree, they sucked) they've been pretty damn good for the sport, despite some people just seeing the name DIRT and assuming it's the same old stuff.

The rivalry between Deyo and DIRT has been fantastic for the sport. Three years ago there were 17 races that paid $10,000 or more to win... that number has more than doubled since then, there are 38 scheduled this year! Here's the best part, friends, you're allowed to watch and enjoy both! I certainly do!

Fri. Sept. 27, 2019

Utica-Rome Speedway

Vernon, NY

Sat. Sept. 28, 2019

Land of Legends Raceway

Canandaigua, NY

Superdirt scheduled against the $53,000 Fonda 200 in 2019. These were open dates when Brett scheduled the Fonda 200.

Super Dirt Car spends more time worrying about Brett Deyo than anything else. Look at last years hastily put together OctoberFast week of racing. Do you think Brett Deyo's Port Royal $53,000 to win and all the other shows Brett squeezed in motivated Super Dirt Car?

All your other points are spot on!

You're right, that did absolutely suck that both races were scheduled for that weekend, I agree. However, the tracks are the ones that request their dates (obviously DIRT could've said "no" when that date was presented). Paul Cole came out with a statement (I copied and posted it below just so you don't think I'm BSing)that he saw an open weekend for the SDS and requested that date. Ultimately those shows ended up being removed from the Super DIRT Series schedule.

Side note, one negative about all these major shows is that they're scheduled on top of each other. Look at September 18 of this year; Fonda (Fonda 200), Grandview (Freedom 76er), Canandaigua (Gerald Haers Memorial), and Accord (King of the Catskills) all have their highest paying races of the year on that same date.

At the end of the day, I hope that the rivalry continues for a long time and they keep trying to one-up each other!

To make things abundantly clear and eliminate all the rumor mongering:

I requested and received a SDS race sanctioned for September 28th at Land of Legends.  There was no DIRTcar event scheduled for that weekend and is a great opportunity for the track and our fans.  Since there is no other Hoosier/VP Modified racing going on in a 250 mile radius and operating a DIRT race track means having such races, this became an easy decision.  We have organized a fantastic event that will be lucrative for dozens of race teams and offering fans a great show for their money.  High drama heat races,  sensational last chance qualifiers and a high speed 50 lap finale where every driver in the top 20 goes home with $1000 or more.

I also made the decision to change it to a non-points race as a courtesy to the few SDS Platinum drivers who have other cars in their stable.  Whether they race sprint cars, NASCAR Trucks, or Late Models, they can choose where their best opportunity to make a living exists for them lies each week.  I respect those businessmen making an investment into racing, no less than they should respect me for giving them opportunities to profit from that investment.

There are over 180 DIRT legal Big Block and 358 Modifieds eligible for this race, and probably another 200+ Sportsman modifieds that might be found in Canandaigua on September 28th.  We will have a great show and hope that if you can't make it to Land of Legends that night,  you get out to some dirt track near you and support the sport as a whole.

The season will open next week on April 20th with the Cabin Fever 40 Sportsman, Big Blocks, 305 Sprints and Street Stocks.  Have a great season.

It is great for us fans too see awesome fields of Modifieds, very competetive at many different tracks, with two very good series competing for cars and fans. The payouts, that you have pointed out, have never been better and more consistant. Let's enjoy the hell out of this.

Now throw in FLORACING, D T D TV and Dirtvision, I don't remember a better time to be a Modified fan!
