That's hilarious that you sent 4 cars home not making the feature. 

Even more hilarious and ridiculous that you were not there.  Super smooth track  and the first one out was the sole NY based team.  The 4 cars u referenced in your post earned being left out   they ran a consi for the non qualifiers  with an entry list of 28.........It's all good in my book. I havn't been shy about being critical about things in the past at NES or anywhere when mistakes were made. Last nite was a good nite outside of alot of cars pulling off for things that had zero to do with the track conditions or management. Mid week shopw ended at a reasonable time as well.  Kudos to all involved

WHERE WERE THE OUTSIDERS? NO PENNSYLVANIA, NEW YORK, OR DELAWARE drivers. For a mid week show and a good purse I was disappointed with the field of cars, not even Jimmy Horton.

Spec head small blocks have been an advantage there, I suspect many teams either don't have one or they don't wanna run what they have at an open show when they are in points at home tracks.  The field was decent last nite all things considered.  NY guys have to buy and mount up American racers might be another reason. The tire shortage is another issue as well

with engine parts and tire shortages and in point races at home tracks most likey still a good show .

You don't think those 4 cars deserve something for supporting the show not to mention an extra distance race? Why does NES have trouble drawing support from outside the track regulars?

Aahhhh yes, they should have received something such as the all important participation trophy we give out today in youth sports.

Now I would hope they were given a small stipend for what used to be called tow money. If not I would consider that poor on the part of a promoter of a special show, but to just extend the starting field to"not send someone home" is not necessary. Having meaningful heats and a consolation is what I like to see.
