Its no surprise that yet another SDCS show goes in the books on a rubbered up tire eating one lane choo choo track.  The winner passed one car, the 44 didn't advance at all.  I guess my biggest question is WHY........tell me why the SDCS powers that be would run the 30 lap support sportsman feature before the BBM's when the track was already going away after the heats?  I have my suspicions. I would love to hear others and maybe even someone from SDC to chime in on that. I realize its hot out, I realize its an extra distance race ..............all the more reason to give the mods a better track than what they got. Congrats on the victory Super Matt.

I think your last sentence answers your question. Speaking as an outsider, I'm fron NJ, DIRT has always run their operation so the favorites can win. First it was Brett Hearn, now it's Sheppard and Freissen. Track prep, race decisions etc, always lean toward their pets. There's a lot of money on the line and they don't want it leaving NY. Why do you think very few outsiders ever run that series. Two that come to mind are Horton and Hoffman. Godown did last year but he learned his lesson. That's what they want, that's what you get.

I second your explanation.  I used to attend Volusia annually, but after seeing so many examples of "outsiders" getting the screws put to them, I decided to not support SDCS any longer. Lettem stay up there.........outside of maybe 3 teams at the most the STSS has a much better field competition, tracks and fairness.  JMO

Your theory may be correct, but you cannot add Stew's name in the fold. He is pretty much an "outlaw" and beats to his own drum when it comes to Super Dirt. He's been that way for a long time now. Super Dirt might just have their first champion this year that's not on the platinum deal and will not recieve point fund money.

There's very rarely a situation where a series needs a driver, but Super Dirt needs Stew more then Stew needs Super dirt.

I won't defend the SDCS races this year as they have been terrible and their format is not great. If you look at the video from Friday at Ransomville the track was in the same condition. I would suggest the southern drivers concentrate on defending their home turf before they even consider traveling to challenge the NY teams. Stewie was set to compete at OCFS last Thursday instead of the Canandaigua SDS race.
