Originally it was the modified show on the 18th but with fan night raining out August 5th, the mods have been dropped. Thursday, August 18th's scheduled card will now have 4 divisions for $5.00 including USAC East Coast sprints, winged 305 sprints, ARDC midgets and SCDRA 4-cyl. Track food vendors will have fan friendly specials as well.         On a side note, the USAC East Coast sprints will be making their first ever visit to the Clinton County Speedway the night after Bloomsburg, Friday August 19th. Word has it many of the teams are looking forward to this one. The final multi-race weekend of the season for the USAC ECS wraps up at Port Royal Saturday August 20th.

Hopefully they get a decent number of cars. The tire and parts issues are taking its toll but I'm thinking the car winning most of the races being crewed by the series director is a big problem as well. It might be time to decide what is more important the series going forward or the future of the 5g. Seven and Thirteen cars at Blooms, and Selinsgrove is a bad look after a month off accept Kutztown. I wish nothing but the best for the series but something has to give. Aside from thinking this working man's series could race multiple thursdays at Bloomsburg, they finally put a real nice schedule together. It took time and effort but it worked out. Now seeing the car the series director work on win most of the races is starting to turn fans and teams off. I hope something changes as they could still have something good. The races at Kutztown were fantastic. Hoping for good things moving forward.

Back in the good ol' days of 2018 and 2019, before the economy became a fully-engulfed dumpster fire, the ECS sked was 10-12 races and mainly stand-alone events. At that time teams and fans wanted more races and more double weekend shows. Now circumstances are calling for less events and weekend shows and I think that is what you will see next season.            I do agree with you on the 5g situation, especially since Heffner became involved. The team has the resources to go to Indiana and run the entire Sprint Week while most of the teams supporting the series are struggling to pay for fuel to drag the car to the track. That being said, it's been great to see some new winners this year with Lattomus, Amantea and also Chris Allen Jr. getting back to victory lane.

Back in the day people wanted two races in a weekend that made sense logistically. You are correct that the economy was flourishing then. While I hope there is a quick end to this dumpster fire the bloomsburg 5 times idea on thursdays is an epic failure. A mid week show here and there that is logistically feasible would work. Unfortunately Bloomsburg has/had a lot of potential. Usac basically didn't finish the job it started and the horrible surface to this point had not been fixed. Hopefully this new clay is the answer. Id like the series to grow in respect to about 25 cars weekly. It was going that way and hopefully the tire/parts issue subsides as well as leadership deciding whether it wants to run a series or run a sprint car team.

At the USAC Eastern Storm race at Port Royal this year, I spoke with a gentleman who is a track worker/official this season at Bloomsburg. He told me about alot of mismanagement by the parties involved, lack of communication between the promoter and fair board and worst of all lack of track prep at times. According to him, the clay isn't nessessarily the issue, not working on the surface until race day is.

I think the people who are looking at a conflict of interest with managemenrt of USAC-EC also being crew chief of the 5g are grabbing at straws.  Go back and look at the history of ARDC and URC and it was always run by management that was made up of drivers and or owners.  They also had boards of directors made up of same and crew members.  All were voted in by club members.

I am not sure how USAC works but I am kind of sure they have a similar board type make up.  Lets face reality, the 5g is a good car, Curt is a good crew chief, and Briggs is a heck of a talent.  That combo is going to excell without any "conflict of interest."  Enjoy the races, stay safe.

I said it earlier this year that imo the series really stopped growing car wise last couple of years because it's mostly the same 2 cars, and mostly 1 team/driver thats wins almost all the time. Not good for growth when people feel they just don't have a chance to win. O

Yeah, I get that and would like to see some parody in the series also, but just to play devil's advocate, take a look at others series and tracks. It's been Friesen and Sheppard for how long in the traveling modified series', Bridgeport put a bounty on Godown during his recent win streak, central Pa. usually has 2 or 3 big winners at any given time and nobody complains no matter how many races Kyle Larson wins. It wasn't too long ago that Steven Drevicki won 3 straight USAC ECS titles, won a lot of races and had everyone else scratching their heads. These things go in waves sometimes.

And now Drevicki doesn' hardly win at all anymore.  Be nice to see Drevicki back up there competing for and getting some wins here and there. Throwing the mod guys comparison in there is apples to oranges jmo. Usac EC is still finding its way and trying to grow, the mod deal is established and has been forever.
