I wanted to give a shout out to Big Diamond for trying to run the show on Sunday. I know some (myself included) were frustrated with the end result but a lot of racing was accomplished and the forecast looked decent until midnight.

Although not the headliner division, the Roadrunner class gave us all one heck of a feature before the storm rolled in. Those top 4-5 cars made it alot fun to watch. Some yellows from the back slowed the action but all in all it was a good race!! I am looking forward to Friday night!

I agree with you 100 percent. They did everything they could to try and continue. Goes to show how little bit of rain can ruin a track. A suggestion for Big D though, since they rely on drivers to run in the track, how about checking with Grandview about purchasing that piece of equipment they use behind the tractor. The one with about 30 tires. Would be nice to have in the future especially for circumstances like Sunday

Conversely, this is an argument why you don't need 2 support classes on your biggest night of the year for your headline division. The 76er always worked well as a 1 division show. If you're really afraid about filling downtime just run one support class. 2 is a back gate money grab.

For what it's worth (Buffalo Springfield), I really enjoy the racing at Big D but have stayed away from the 'Cracker the last year or 2 because of the 3 division show and the 7:45 start on the night before a family holiday. Understand the late night start on a Friday night during the hot summer, but this special race could easily start an hour earlier. JMO

Conversely, I would think the track wants to make back gate money? LOL.

I would agree with you though. It would have been nice to still have the races on Friday with RR's, Carates and Mod practice.  Sunday just  the coal cracker with one support division. I prefer the RR's. The racing is better than the 602's, they only have 2 heats that last about 4 minutes and a feature that has a 20 minute cap.

I don't own the track though so I will support whatever they decide on. Sometimes the order of events does make me scratch my head but my kids and I still always have fun!
