New Egypt Cabin Fever 40 will pay $4500 to win New Egypt, NJ (Feb. 21, 2023): The 2023 season opener at New Egypt Speedway will take place on Saturday, April 1 kicking off a new era at the central Jersey facility. The Modifieds will headline the first show under Rick Grosso Jr's leadership with the "Cabin Fever 40" paying a cool $4500 to win. Many top drivers from the tri-state area have expressed interest in competing for the lucrative purse, which includes $1000 for tenth and $500 to take the green for the 40 lap affair.
The Crate 602 Sportsman will also be on hand racing for $1000 to win their 20 lap feature, however a new weekly twist will debut that night. If 35 or more Crate Sportsman are in attendance for any Saturday night event in 2023, the 20 lap feature will then be bumped up to pay $1250 to win! A large field is expected to make this a reality on opening night, an evening also featuring the opening event for the 602 Crate Sportsman Rookie class of 2023.
The very popular NEWS wingless Sprint cars and the highly competitive 4-cylinders round out the 4 division show which will open the New Egypt championship point race. Racing gets underway with warmups at 5pm and the first green flag of the "new" Grosso era will wave at 6pm. Gates for the Pit area will open at 1pm to allow extra time for opening night tech inspection with grandstands gates swinging open at 3pm. Looking forward to the new New Egypt Speedway opening with the Grasso's back in charge of things. Hoping he gets rid of the comedy duo announcers that have been there way toooo long. Especially the one in the grandstands who is just out of control with his meanimangles babbling about non racing issues. |

Hey ashort12 why don't you just go up to the announcers and say it to there faces instead of bringing it on here, or why don't you asked New Egypt if you could announce 1 night to see if you do better which I doubt you could, if you don't like them don't go or wear ear plugs so you can't hear them.Just my opinion. |

The announcers were never an issue for me. There were far more other issues over the yrs and I'm positive Mr Grosso and staff will do an outstanding job with those. Really looking forward to this season and being a regular once again. |

How about the return of London Broil sandwiches...One word; YESSS! That was as much a part of the downfall of NES as the racing when they did away with those badboys. To put the LB sandwhiches back on the menu tells me Ole' Ricky has got a pretty good handle on fixing NES. He also has the seemingly "little" things covered! |

It's true thing's are changing this year for both Ryan's Both will call New Egypt home for the 2023 Season and excited to be part of the Grosso Family's reopening of the Speedway. As for Motorsports Ryan Sr was never there only his. He fought with no one. As for Bridgeport we had a great two years and it was time to move on. Ryan, the 26 team and his sponsors are looking forward to the 2023 season at the newly owned Grosso familya (New Egypt Speedway) |

It's funny to read the comments about Ryan Godown leaving Bridgeport Speedway. Ryan Sr was never at Motorsports this year in fact he never took or picked up his car from there his crew did. As for leaving Bridgeport Speedway Ryan did nothing wrong to Doug Roses Family nor did he talk bad about the Speedway.There definitely two sides to this story and at the end of this one your go to find Ryan is the better man. As for New Egypt Speedway Ryan and his team will be calling New Egypt home for the 2023 Season. Ryan and the 26 team can't wait to see you'll at the new Grosso where are Family facility. |

He might be there but will they let him in? Guess thatdependson what transpired between Rose, Deyo and DIRTCAR. According to AARP they met earlier in the week to discuss the matter. We ahall see. I'm curious as to where you are getting your info. Nothing on Modown's FB page says he will be at Bport. Unless of course he is referring Bport as the "south Jersey track". |
