Plans Coming Together for 2025 ARRA Display Tour!
Ringoes,NJ, Auto Racing Research Associates is beginning to put the pieces together for their 2025 racing season display tour. For a number of years now, ARRA has visited a handful of tracks and associated gatherings in an effort to boost its presence on the Northeast auto racing scene. ARRA President Fred Voorhees is currently lining up the coming seasons schedule where the group of over 40 auto racing historians across the country, will set up shop and have a display of what they are about and most of the time...have track specific statistics regarding the track itself as well as a file or two on some of their own track driving stars. “We always enjoy getting away for a weekend here and there, get out and enjoy the racing at some different tracks and at the same time, meet more racing friends and spread the word on just what it is we do here at ARRA.” Fred mentioned as he began to get set to make hotel reservations aligning with this years Summer binge of track visits. The groups season schedule is already building with returns to some facilities and visits to a few new ones! “Unless something comes up before it...the first stop for the display tour finds us at the Orange County Fair Speedway Nostalgia Night.” Fred mentioned. “ARRA has been represented at the annual Nostalgia Night for a number of seasons now and its always great to get up there and see the great job that Doug Dulgarian and crew do in putting this gathering together….along with the racing on the speedway itself!” Nostalgian Night this year will take place on June 8th. The Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame and Museum’s (Weedsport,NY) annual ceremony to induct selected, esteemed drivers and participants in the sport into the Hall, leads off a three night bonzai swing starting with the annual displayat the Hall of Fame ceremony on July 24th. “The following night will find the ARRA display being set up for the very first time at the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY.” Voorhees noted. “We have visited the Outlaw Speedway a few times now and I fell in love with the old covered grandstand there. That’s the woodworker in me. We visited Outlaw to combine a visit with old racing friend, track announcer Mel Thomas and videographer Bob Miller and to again, sit in that beautiful old country fair covered grandstand! I am thrilled to return this year and throw up the ARRA display to spread the word of our work!” Finally, to put a cap on the weekend NY jaunt, ARRA will head back to the Weedsport area and set up for the first time ever at the Weedsport Speedway where a huge crowd of racing fans are expected to congregate to watch the annual Hall of Fame 100! “That show should be a huge success with the sports highest level of auto racing excitement appearing at the well appointed facility boasting fantastic fan friendly features. It will be our second appearance at a ‘New” track for the ARRA display over the weekend combined with that Friday night at Outlaw.” Fred noted. In August...ARRA travels up into the mountains of the Catskills for the annual Accord Speedway Racers Reunion gathering where they conduct their annual Hall of Fame awards. “The entire thing is put together by Accord stalwart Frank Bush and his better half. We have enjoyed getting up there to see the Accord Speedway fans and enjoy the day with them. I think this year will be our fifth year heading up there to set up.” ARRA welcomes any tracks that may want to host their display and representatives for a night at their track or gathering. “We are always open to talk to anyone. I would especially love to get to some tracks that we continuously update their weekly results on our website.” Fred noted. “Maybe even get to spend an evening at either New Egypt or Bridgeport this year since they would be quick and simple nights right here in our home state.” ARRA invites any tracks who may be interested to treating their fans to learning more about ARRA and its coverage of their home tracks to get in touch and see what can be worked out. Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten. ARRA continues to build a network of associated auto racing related websites to unite for better chances of furthering the understanding of the past of our sport. ARRA offers looking up services for those looking for one particular piece of information from the past. They are the official statistics information source of the Flemington Speedway Historical Society and have been doing much of the research work for a number of years for the Northeast Dirt Modified Museum and Hall of Fame in Weedsport, NY.
