ARRA Highlights One of its Own!  Meet Historian Tim Baltz!

Ringoes,NJ – ARRA has grown by leaps and bounds over the past five or six years!  From its roots of concentrating strictly on Northeast stock car racing, Auto Racing Research Associates exploded since opening up the flood gates and moving to a national platform of researching, collecting, documenting and making available to the public, their dedicated research of the sport of auto racing.  The roster of ARRA historians spans the gamut of racing personalities.  From the simple race fan that decided to begin to look back at the history of the sport...to others who made it a career to be involved.

One of those historians who has been and is still deeply involved in the sport is Kingston, Ontario’s Tim Baltz.  “Timmy came aboard here at ARRA about two years ago now.” reveals ARRA President Fred Voorhees. “Once we became acquainted with one another and began to collaborate in racing statistics...it was a natural to see that Timmy could be a great addition to our ARRA staff.”

Baltz stays busy during the racing season in the upper reaches of New York and into Canada by manning the announcers mic weekly at both the Brockville Speedway in Ontario and the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville, NY and also serves as an announcer on the DIRTcar series events.  He is a morning news radio anchor at Hustle and Heart 99.9 myFM as an occupation.

“Timmy is a dedicated statistician as well as the other stuff with the announcing.” Voorhees adds.  “I knew I had to ask him to join us soon after first seeing the dedication in his work.  Timmy also does his own podcasts on YouTube and they are titles “In The Dirt” and brings viewers up to date with weekly racing results from up and down the East Coast.  I thought I would introduce Timmy as the first in a series of occasional glimpses of our historians behind the scenes.”   A sampling of one of Tim’s YouTube podcasts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X9reh3UP5s

Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.  ARRA continues to build a network of associated auto racing related websites to unite for better chances of furthering the understanding of the past of our sport.  ARRA offers looking up services for those looking for one particular piece of information from the past.  They are the official statistics information source of the Flemington Speedway Historical Society and have been doing much of the research work for a number of years for the Northeast Dirt Modified Museum and Hall of Fame in Weedsport, NY.
