Finally Beating Mother Nature:
The June 4th Wingless Weds racing action was the 1st Weds. since May 7th and it was great to be back. The 10 qualifying events had 7 that went non-stop and the Dave Cordier,Jr. prepped race track widened as the racing continued on through the night until we had many 3 wides and a few 4 wides.
1st up were the Junior Sprints and there was denying Enzo Iudicello his 3rd win as the racing action behind him was hectic to say the least. The battle for 2nd came down to a lap 18 pass by Jase Smith to get by Andrew Ferriola and hold that spot under the checker. Ferriola had another strong top 3 run with a 3rd.Carter Green and Braylon Morris dueled it out for 4th with Green narrowly ahead of Morris. The race went non-stop in 3:34.
A strong field of seventeen 270 micros saw Matt McAnally set a blistering pace that no one could keep up with to claim his 1st 270 win of the season. Opening night winner Chris Dolan used a nice lowside pass on lap 18 to get by Dustin Roberts to claim 2nd.Roberts a 2025 feature winner at Shellhammer's took the 3rd place payout. Staying focused as a top 5 runner was Chase Zeigenfuss who put his 52Z in for a strong 4th place run just besting Matt Bangs who started the race in the top 5,only to fall back to 7th by lap 7 and regrouping to get 5th at the checker.
Jake Moyer and Dylan Hoch ran side by side until turn 3 of lap 1 when Hoch had a sudden power burst putting the 35 into the top spot, never to be denied for the remaining 19 laps. Behind him was a hectic foursome with Moyer, Tyler Hoch,Johnny Fugelo and Brett Smith doing some position shuffling as Smith quickly got through the pack after a lap 2 spin. Dylan took the win over Smith who passed Moyer on lap 14 for 2nd with Moyer getting 3rd. The mad scramble was settled between Tyler Hoch and Fugelo with Hoch narrowly getting 4th over Johnny.
The 600 micro main was quite entertaining with early race leader Damian Bower and Richie Hartman locked up in a torrid duel with Bower leaving some racing room on the lowside of turn 1 on lap 7 which Hartman took advantage of enroute to his 2nd win of the season. Making a late race charge was Trevor Kobylarz , who started 4th,falling just short of getting his 1st win of the season. Steady Matt McAnally again getting a podium finish of 3rd in the 37. Jase Smith was a top 5 runner since lap 4 and claimed the 4th place points after 20 laps. The "G" Man Geezer Fanelli did some wheeling and dealing to enter the top 5 on lap 10 and keeping that spot to the final checker.Hard luck hit Aiden Svanda who worked his way up to 7th from his 12th place starting spot, only to have his #76 come to a dead stop on lap 6.
Hailey Burnatowski was the Junior Slingshot race leader for 19 3/4 laps as Aubrey Romig made a lowside pass off of turn 4 to get her 1st win of 2025 by just .06 seconds. Burnatowski was placed at the back of the field after a post race rule infraction. Frank Fritzinger who had some midrace speed in his #51 was slotted in at 2 after the final results were made official. May 7th winner Barry Seaman put another top 3 in the record books with a 3rd place run. Moving up to 4th was Brayden Bednar who was soldiering on in 6th with just 2 laps to go but got by 5th place finishing Cheyenne Snodderly to get a well earned 4th. The race went non-stop in 3:42.
There was no stopping Seth Gregory from claiming the 125 micro main as the 14 was on rails ,no matter what part of the track he raced on. Dylan Yeingst slotted in for 2nd with Easton Miller under the checkers for 3rd. The 4th place battle went down to the wire with Corey Harting nosing out Mitch Gibson. Another non-stop 20 lap main timed at 3:19.
The final event of the night was the All Star Slingshots and on lap 1 Dylan Hoch and Colton Williams ran side by side on lap 1 before Hoch took the top spot and the 25 lap win over the 21 car field. Some early race cautions continued to close the field but after the halfway signal was given the racing settled down with some midpack battles gaining some attention. Darian Danyluk stalked Tyler Hoch for the last 15 laps as Dane, Lane Lindsay Garl and Hailey Eroh were having their own private battle. The Hoch Family had a few family battles on the restarts but Dylan won out at the end over Tyler with Danyluk in for 3rd. Another strong showing for Garl for 4th with Eroh getting by Lane on lap 23 to get a 5th place finish with Lane 6th. Special mention to Lucas Pittenger who notched a solid 7th coming from his 21st starting position.
Racing was checkered at 10:02 and all payouts were completed by 10:30.
Wingless Weds returns on June 11th with another 7 division program.
