Fairbury Speedway is Added to ARRA Website Track Roster
Ringoes, NJ – Long time Auto Racing Research Associates historian John Nelson of Pesotum, Illinois has been one of the more active researchers among the ranks of the over 40 strong roster of member historians. Being one of John’s favorite tracks….the Fairbury Speedway, in Fairbury, Illinois just very recently hosted the 2025 edition of the DIRTcar Late Model Summer Nationals and in honor of the speedway...John thought that a great time to submit his initial data on one of his track “loves”!
“I knew John was a frequent visitor to Fairbury”, admitted ARRA President Fred Voorhees as he wrapped up preparing the files for use on the groups statistical website. “John has always had some sort of iron in the fire as far as research is concerned.” The recent running of the Summer Nationals prompted Nelson to dig up the stats and submit them. “I am grateful for John to get this track started on our website...it simply represents another opportunity to help ARRA grow to a more national in scope research group.” Fred happily revealed. “We just began to report the weekly results from the Skagit Speedway in Washington state this season and now another track well away from the Northeast, which was our original base geography, Fairbury will begin to have its history documented by our group.”
Some soon to be evident growth in the files will be forthcoming as more results are easily found and documented and added to the ARRA files. Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.
