16 YEAR OLD JAMES BLEWETT WINS CAREER FIRST IN WALL SPORTSMAN 75 SATURDAY

WALL, NJ ~ Young James Blewett carried on a winning family tradition at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night by grabbing his career first feature race win in the 75-lap Sportsman main event. Grandfather John Blewett, Jr., late uncle John Blewett III and father Jimmy Blewett all enjoyed great success on the third mile high banked paved oval.

    Bryan O'Shea of Neptune City took the lead at the outset of the contest, while Blewett, Rahway's Billy Both, Lavallette's Quinn Trimmer and Howell's Kevin Davison were close behind. After staying in contention through the first half of the event, Blewett lined up on the outside of the front row and powered into the lead on green flag. Blewett then stretched an advantage until the final caution waved on lap 67.

    Blewett was still up to the task on the ensuing restart as he again stretched an advantage while O'Shea slid off the track and out of contention.  Zach Lenardo advanced to second in the closing laps, while Both, Davison and Hazlet's Chris Silvestri wrapped up the top five. Davison earned a $500 Fast Time Bonus from John Blewett, Inc, while Davison, Silvestri, and Kenny Reaves shared a $500 bonus posted by Accurate Tree Service.

    "I owe all this to my father and mother and my entire family," James Blewett said after the win. "I especially have to give thanks to my great grandfather who got all of our racing careers going. It means so much to me to win this race where my family has had so much success."

    Winner James Blewett was joined my his mother and father in the victory celebration. Father Jimmy Blewett is sitting out of competition this season due to his recovery from a major medical condition.

    Shannon Mongeau of Island Heights raced to victory in the companion 25-lapper for the Factory Stocks. Mongeau led the crash filled event from start to finish before it was call official on lap 20. Bryan O'Shea, Howell'a Johnny Carpenter and Rob Anderton and Scott Riggleman of Manchester wrapped up the top five.

    Ian Ashford of Jackson raced to the win in the 25-lap Fast 4 main event, leading from start to finish. Orangeburg, NY driver Mike Lavery, Joe Pressey, Doug Ashford and Jerry Stanzione were second to fifth.

    The 2025 Wall Stadium Speedway season continues this Saturday night, June 28, with the Modifieds battling in the $5,00 to win Garden State Classic. Legend Cars, TQ Midgets and Limited Late Models will also be in competition. Qualifying is at 5:00 p.m. with main events starting at 7:00 p.m. There is a Sunday rain Date in effect for this event only.
