We Passed Mother Nature For the Win.
With the night moving in rapid style, a brief visit by Mother Nature slowed down our plans, but did not get the win last night. The 600 micros were slated to take to the speedway for their A Main at 7:50, but raindrops were hitting the racing surface at 7:45, putting Dave,Jr. and Willy into action as the dual water truck reclaiming of the high banks was underway. Dave went out at 8:07,Willy joined him 4 minutes later and the call was made to the 600s to take a few "quick" laps, regroup and lineup for their feature. At 8:34 we went green.

Here is the recap of the 7 A Mains run after our brief delay.

The 600 micros were setting some speed records for time of race and laps on the track. Adam O'Brien had the XXX in overdrive as he had to ward off the challenges of Chris Tittle and Trevor Kobylarz.Behind this trio was an all out battle with Damian Bower,Matt McAnally and Easton Miller with Brantley Floczak,Karter Kunsman and Geezer Fanelli in another 3 car war. As the laps winded down with no yellows, positions were still being swapped to the final checker. O'Brien stretched his lead in the last 3 laps with Kobylarz 2nd over McAnally with Tittle right behind. Bower kept Floczak and Kunsman behind him as Easton Miller joined in for a solid 8th. Fanelli was losing speed in the final 3 laps but held on for 9th. Nonstop race was completed in 3:09.

It was Junior Slingshot time and these young drivers didn't disappoint anyone either. Setting a blistering pace was Aubrey Romig who had the 35a completely dialed in. There wasn't anyone that was going to challenge her. The full field all completed the 20 lap distance even though Aubrey had a 3 turn winning margin. Gavin Wolfe, Anthony DiNatale and Hailey Burnatowski were bunched up for the 1st 10 laps then entering the scene was Barry Seaman and Frank Fritzinger. Behind Aubrey was Wolfe, who had just enough to beat Fritzinger to the line by .16 seconds after getting past Burnatowski. Hailey was 4th with Barry Seaman in for 5th. The Juniors also went nonstop in 3:37.

The 3rd feature was the 125 micros and again it was caution free with the 20 lap main completed in 3:15. Getting a good launch off of turn 4 was Seth Gregory with Easton Miller close behind. Making some headway on the leaders in the early stages of the race was Jarrett Imler and Shane Davis from his 7th starting slot. Joining in around the halfway point was Dylan Yeingst and Mason Cantello. Once they got to lap 15 Gregory was not going to be denied the win but some bad luck would strike Easton Miller as the 17e slowed on the white flag lap, moving him back to 6th. Imler held on for 2nd over Davis with Cantello and Yeingst rounding out the top 5.

Multi-time National  All Star Slingshot Champion Brett Bieber was the All Star Slingshot pacesetter in the Tess Horvath 42H and from the drop of the green this 20 lapper had many position shuffles throughout the field. 4th starting Dylan Hoch got past Jocelynn Darinsig and Mason Pittenger to trail Bieber after just 5 laps.Intently watching from 5th was Colton Williams and on a lap 9 restart Williams vaulted into 2nd just nosing past Hoch as Hailey Eroh became a top 5 force on lap 10. 6th place running Lindsey Garl got caught up in a minor fracas, but soldiered on but headed to the infield on lap 14. The scramble was on the last 3 laps as Bieber had his comfortable lead lessened by both Williams and Hoch and the run to the checker had Bieber winning by .5 seconds with Hoch only .2 seconds behind Colton. It was now time for the girls to shine as Eroh got 4th with Darinsig a strong 5th.Darian Danyluk rallied from an early race caution for 6th followed closely by Tess Horvath. Early race challenger Mason Pittenger was 8th.

The Junior Sprint field was limited due to their Speedweeks schedule but they went non stop in 2:37 for 15 laps with Carter Green setting a quick pace over Wyatt Floczak and Tyler Johnson. Carter was turning laps in the low 10 second bracket.

It was Clinton Hauser bringing a strong field of 15 270 micros to the green and he was the driver to beat in the early stages of the 20 laps. Eventually Matt McAnally had room on the lowside of turn 4 to get by Clinton on lap 9 and assume command for which he was not to be denied.Starting to show some speed at lap 10 was Dylan Kuronya in the 53 as he wrestled past Matt Bangs and Hauser to slot in at 3rd at the lap 11 mark. A Matt Hoffman tumble in turn 2 regrouped the field and it was off and running with Jarrett Imler,Kuronya,Bangs and Hauser virtually running just  a few feet apart from each other on lap 15 setting the stage for the final 5 laps. McAnally stayed focused for the win with Kuronya getting by Imler for 2nd. The 4th place finish concluded right under Dave Cordier,Jr's checkered with Hauser just nipping Bangs at the line. After a year of nothing but hard luck,"Sleeveless" Mike Kalman had a strong 6th place finish followed by D J Tanner and Chris Dolan.

As our staging official Stacey Kohler lined up the Stage 1 Modifieds for the final event of the night at 9:35, things were looking good for a full show after a bout with Mother Nature and the Stage 1's ended the night with a blaze. Dylan Hoch won pole honors by winning his heat but he had multi-time S1 champion A J Gerhart sharing the front row with him. Gerhart stayed on the high side and right aside of Hoch until turn 4 when Dylan had some great bite on the lowside claiming the top spot for which he held the entire 20 laps. Gerhart was also setting a pace all his own with Golden Hammer winner Brett Smith getting by Johnny Fugelo for the 3rd spot. With laps passing quickly the top 3 were sure things but Jake Moyer's attempt to overtake Fugelo for 4th came a few feet short. The Stage 1 Modifieds completed their nonstop 20 lap affair in 3:18 with the final checkered at 9:38.

So for the fans that went home and the fans and race teams that stayed home, you missed out on an exciting night at the Little Track By The River.

We ran 135 A Main laps for 7 classes in 64 minutes with everyone paid and on their way home by 10 PM.

Again thanks to Dave and Brenda for NOT giving up
