ARRA Posts Career Win List of Legendary Al Tasnady!! Ringoes, NJ – They say that some things are worth the wait! That would hold true with the latest addition to the Auto Racing Research Associates …ARRA website and its newest addition, the all time career win list of the legendary Northeast modified hot shoe, Al Tasnady! Through the efforts of ARRA Co-Founder Bill Skinner, the group now has a cohesive and fairly complete listing of the legends list of career wins! “Bill has always been our expert on racing long ago, back into the fifties and sixties here in the Northeast.” boasts ARRA President Fred Voorhees as he proudly announced Skinners recent submission to the ever growing website of racing statistics from all over the nation. “We have had a well supported page on Al for quite a while…but our statistics were scattered over several files and nothing listing a simple, concise and “all in one spot” file detailing his feature wins over his career that spanned over twenty years from 1951 through the 1971 racing season.” Voorhees notes that this is the first of its kind as far as the career of Tasnady goes. “We have had a number of files piecing together his career in several modes, but not an accurate and comprehensive listing of just his feature wins. I am so glad that Bill has dug in and did the research to come up with this latest file!” He is quick to point out that while the list is fairly complete…there are other wins suspected of being back there in history, but just are not available at this time and the search will go on. “Bill assures me that there are probably a handful of wins that were garnered back in the early 50’s at both the Atco and Pleasantville Speedways and while Bill has “beaten the bushes” to eek out the stats…they just are not out there to find currently.” “Al Tasnady was my very first favorite driver back in the early sixties when I first began going to the races at Flemington at five years old with my Grandfather. To get closer and closer to actually nailing down his complete career record is a dream come true! But we have to be realistic in our goals when it comes to racing back in that era. The coverage of the sport was in its true infancy and it just didn’t get the coverage it enjoys these days. I definitely want to acknowledge the efforts of Bill Skinner. He was one of the five of us that got the ARRA research group up and running back in our earliest days.” Those that wish to view the new Al Tasnady Career Win list can find it on his page at this address: https://sites.google.com/site/arracarsdriversevents/home/al-tasnady Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.
