Outlaw Speedway Stats Experiences a Huge Growth!!

Ringoes,NJ – Auto Racing Research Associates…better known as ARRA, are pleased to announce that their library of weekly statistics covering the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY has grown by leaps and bounds with the recent update by ARRA President Fred Voorhees. One of the earlier tracks that the organization researched and documented…it lacked the names of feature winners of all but the headline class. That has begun to change.

“I got a heads up from a race fan through one of the internet message boards where I might be able to find some information to help me with my current Alex Payne research project.” Fred explained about how this additional research came about. “As it turns out, Outlaw’s website has a link to a library of press releases issued by the track since back to 2007! It was like a pot of gold! Between that link and an online archive of local auto racing newspaper Area Auto Racing News, I was able to go back to 2007 and record every feature event winners name that competed each week.”

It wasn’t like that in ARRA’s earliest years. The historians had no idea how their website would grow into an award winning group and be used so extensively by the racing press and track officials. “In the beginning, we basically only recorded the names of the headline class feature winner.” Stated Voorhees. “That turned around to bite us in the butt because as our site grew with subjects…the more tracks we had researched…it made it quicker and quicker to complete driver research projects.” But..the usual progression of drivers is they start in one of the accompanying divisions and with ARRA not documenting them…they would still need to rely on the drudge work of sifting through papers…week by week by year by year to hunt out the information. “Yeah….that was a tough lesson.” Admitted Voorhees about how they did things early on at ARRA. “Now, I don’t do a track research project without including the winners of EVERY division. There are still a number of tracks that are still just with the headline class winners listed. But having this Outlaw stuff pretty much get dropped into my lap…well, like honey to a bear! I pretty much only let that stuff lay around for a week or two before I began to get on it.” Voorhees states that this might be the diving board to an effort to try to go back and complete the history of Outlaw Speedway as much as possible some time in the near future. “Oh, and by the way…” Voorhees offered as a parting shot, “…..I DID find some early career feature wins for Alex Payne also!”
