“If you are a racing fan anywhere in the Northeast”… began ARRA’s Fred Voorhees, “..you are aware of who Earl Krause is. Earl, most notably as a long time scribe and staff of Area Auto Racing News, also is a well known gathering emcee, video commentating, announcing at many speedways, including Pocono Speedway and weekly at the Wall Stadium Speedway in NJ.” Krause has always shed light on the positive angles of the sport and has been an ambassador for our racing. “I totally agree and that factored into the decision to honor Earl.”
“Kevin Eyres has had his hand in a multiple of various angles in our sport!” Voorhees started on former driver at Wall Stadium. “Driving at Wall Stadium is only the beginning of it.” Fred went on. “Kevin and a pair of others threw their hat into the ring at promoting….taking a stab at the promotion game at what is commonly known as New Egypt Speedway…however back when it was an asphalt speedway. Kevin is also the driving force behind the annual Matheny School benefit, continuing the annual Christmas benefit for the Matheny School, started by Photographer Ace Lane, driver Sammy Beavers and racing writer and columnist Ken Kuhlman.” And it doesn’t stop there either. “Nope…currently, you can find Kevin helping in dirt modified driver Stewart Friesen’s pit area most of the time.” Fred noted. “That rounds out what occurred to ARRA as consideration was being looked at Kevin. The guy stays busy in the sport!”
“Carol Houssock could stand behind a brick wall and just narrate some sort of racing activity and many would recognize that voice behind the mic! Paved modified racing fans in the Chemung Speedrome area and attend the speedway will instantly recognize Carol’s professional approach to her announcing.” Fred said describing a big factor in Carol’s election to getting the Hanna Award. “Just last season, Carol announced her final shoe at the Chemung Speedrome in New York….ending a thirty year run there. That is dedication!” Houssock has also garnered awards for her journalism from the Eastern Motorsport Press Association. “Carol garnered so much attention and kudos since here announcement of her retirement..” ended Voorhees…”..It proves that many of us were thinking the same thing! Honoring one of our own that put their heart and sole into her racing related work! Just how Bill Hanna would have done so.” ARRA is proud to honor the latest three recipients of the Bill Hanna Passion and Dedication Award Earl Krause, Kevin Eyres and Carol Houssock!
