Ringoes,NJ – The 2026 version of the annual Auto Racing Research Associates display tour kicks off on June 7th at the 20th annual Orange County Fair Speedway Nostalgia Night at the famous Middletown, NY speedway facility. Currently, six appearances are slated for this Summer season with a heavy emphasis on the month of August. “Doug Dulgarian always puts on a great night of looking back at the history of the Orange County Speedway with his annual Nostalgia Night!” stated ARRA President Fred Voorhees as he announced the seasons scheduled appearances of the research groups familiar red canopy set up. “ARRA has been a part of this annual happening for six or seven years now and each year a plethora of fans come out to check out the nostalgic reminiscing by way of restored older machines that plied the trade of the racers back in the older, wilder days of stock car racing, interviews of drivers and the highly anticipated autograph session which is always the highlight of the day and then topped off with a great night of racing on the famed 5/8ths mile track.’ Voorhees emphasized. Once the Orange County Nostalgia Night is in the books….ARRA looks forward to the rest of their Summer season schedule which includes a very busy August, beginning on the first of the month and seeing ARRA set up at the annual Five Mile Point Speedway Racers Reunion, put together annually by racing fan Grant Buck and for the second year, will be held at the River Park in Kirkwood, NY. A healthy display of old cars, veteran and current drivers, and plenty of displays reflecting the old times at the now defunct Five Mile Point Speedway will be in the offering to again, reminisce about the racing days of the Binghamton, NY speedway that closed down just a few years ago. The following week, ARRA heads to Shokan, NY and the Grant Avery Park in Shokan, for the annual Accord Speedway Racers Reunion gathering under the direction of race fan Frank Bush. “This years appearance at the Accord reunion will be special.” claims Fred. “Yeah, we will have on display, two of ARRA’s newest driver research projects, those being of both Mike and Rick Ricci Jr., two of Accords most prolific winners there over the years! I look forward to having them available for the fans to check out!” That happens on Sunday August 9th. Then just a few days later, the ARRA tour continues with a triple display trip back to New York state and starts off with the annual Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame ceremony. “ARRA has been part of the ceremony for many years now and has been aiding the Hall in investigating potential candidates for entrance into the Drivers Hall of Fame. Last year, I was honored by the Hall with the Andrew Fusco “Media Excellence” award for my work with ARRA. The August 13th night of the ceremony will be extra special this year as a fellow classmate of my South Hunterdon High School graduating class of 1976, John Sine, will be honored with the ‘Mechanic of the Year” award, marking the first time in the history of the Hall of Fame that two fellow high school graduates from the same school, the same class, will be honored by the Hall of Fame in back to back years!” Voorhees proudly noted. “I look forward to seeing John honored for his long time work behind the scenes of a number of different drivers” The following night after the Hall of Fame Ceremony, Voorhees and wife Karen transport the ARRA display to the Dundee, NY racing facility known as the Outlaw Speedway. “We set up at Outlaw for the first time last year and many thanks to track PR maven Craig Simmons for having us back once again this season. Outlaw Speedway night for ARRA happens on August 14th and we look forward to getting back there!” With a night off after Outlaw, the ARRA display next sets up at the Weedsport Speedway on August 16th at the Hall of Fame 100 DIRT Modified series 100 lapper at the opulent speedway in Weedsport, NY. “Track manager and successful DIRT modified driver, Jimmy Phelps opened up his arms in welcoming ARRA and our display last year for the Hall of Fame program and we look forward to once again being a part of this annual happening!” Fred mentioned. “ARRA has very open months of June and July if there are any other area tracks who may be willing to host the display at the racing facility.” noted President Voorhees. “We love to get out to new venues and spread the word of the extensive research work our group of over 40 historians continue to provide to the sport.” Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.
