ARRA Research Welcomes Two New Historians…One Being Its First Female! Ringoes, NJ – ARRA, Auto Racing Research Associates, is happy to announce that its international group of auto racing historians are welcoming two new historian members to their fold…and its first female historian! “I am thrilled to announce that our group of historians will grow by two more members with the addition of Sean Wrona and Brooke Jon Pierre.” Boasted ARRA President Fred Voorhees from his Ringoes, NJ ARRA home base. “I have been sitting on the release of this news for quite a while and am now proud to announce that both of these New York state residents will add new depth and dimension to our groups wide berth of knowledge and experience!” Wrona and St. Pierre will represent the 44th and 45th active members of ARRA, in addition to deceased members Bill Hanna and Allen E. Brown. “Sean Wrona got in touch with me a few months ago, inquiring about becoming a help with our website.” Voorhees noted about his original contact with the new member. “Sean certainly brought some interesting facts with him about himself! Sean authored a number of internet racing websites with Geocities, eventually morphing into what at one time was the worlds third largest auto racing statistics website. Sean has authored some varied and comprehensive files on auto racing outside of the United States and I look forward to working with Sean in getting those files onto the ARRA website!” Voorhees mused. Outside of his racing side…Sean Wrona boasts a unusual notoriety! “Outside of racing…” Sean mentions “ ….I am primarily famous as a competitive typist. I was generally regarded as the fastest typist in the world throughout the 2010s and I won 20 typing championships from 2010 to 2021, most famously the Ultimate Typing Championship at the SXSW Interactive Conference in Austin in 2010, which was featured in two YouTube videos that had over a combined 25,000,000 views.” Besides his typewriting skills, Wrona is also noted as a world class Scrabble player. “I attained an expert rating in tournament Scrabble in the mid-2010s and won the top division at a tournament in Webster, NY in 2015.” “I am mulling over just how Sean will be fitting into our fold as a historian…he has skills that we could truly use in our running of the website and we will explore that option sooner or later.” President Voorhees noted. A Ransomville, NY resident, Brooke Johnpier, is currently a student at the St. Bonaventure ;University where she is ardently majoring in Sports Media. “I crossed paths with Brooke’s name over the internet while doing some research and I contacted her to inquire about her background in the sport of auto racing.” Mentioned Voorhees in speaking about first getting word on who would eventually become ARRA’s very first female historian. Johnpier becomes the organizations 45th active historian. “As it turned out”, Fred noted, “Brooke has emersed herself into the Northeast auto racing world and her college goal is becoming a full time automotive/motorsports journalist. Brooke is the official track journalist for the Dirt Track at Genesee and also serves as the Publicity Director for the Race of Champions asphalt modified touring series.” Furthering her tasks in the sport, Brooke has done her fair share of writing. “Oh for sure!” Voorhees pointed out. “She has penned her work for such media as Speedway Illustrated, Race Pro Weekly and The Podium Finish. And as an aside to her motorsports journalism efforts, Brooke has also obtained an Associates degree in Automotive Technologly…so she not only talks the talk, but walks the walk in our sport!” “I think Brooke will help to broaden our scope of coverage of the sport and add a certain “flavor” to the mix that will keep our groups body of work interesting and informative! I want to join in with the forty four other currently active ARRA members in welcoming both Sean and Brooke to our group of historians and look forward to working with them both and excitedly look ahead to their contributions!” Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten. ARRA continues to build a network of associated auto racing related websites to unite for better chances of furthering the understanding of the past of our sport. ARRA offers looking up services for those looking for one particular piece of information from the past. They are the official statistics information source of the Flemington Speedway Historical Society and have been doing much of the research work for a number of years for the Northeast Dirt Modified Museum and Hall of Fame in Weedsport, NY. ARRA President, Fred Voorhees, was honored by the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame, located in the Weedsport, NY based Dirt Modified Museum for his work for ARRA in July of 2025, being awarded the Andrew S. Fusco Award for Media Excellence.
