The Du Quoin Fairgrounds Becomes ARRA’s 198th Researched Track!! Ringoes, NJ – “Only two one-mile dirt tracks in the United States currently host auto racing. Both are in Illinois. They are the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield and the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Perry County, southern Illinois.” states ARRA historian John Nelson of Pesotum, IL. “John is one of ARRA’s more prolific historians.” claims ARRA President Fred Voorhees from his ARRA world headquarters office located in Hunterdon County, NJ. “John is always working on something racing research related! He just yesterday sent me updates on files regarding the Du Quoin Fairgrounds speedway and I realized that, while we had Du Quoin within our files and on our website, it was located in a Bill Hanna Special Reports Wing under “The Miles”. I had not counted it as a researched track, but I have spent some time today building a page dedicated to the speedway and thus, in doing so…the legendary one mile racing facility becomes the research groups 198th track to get its own page on the always growing racing statistical website.” Those fans wishing to check out the latest addition to the popular website can view the new page at: https://sites.google.com/view/tracks-organizations-series/home/du-quoin-state-fair Auto Racing Research Associates is a growing group of over forty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.
